omg. is the devil finally leaving us?
-
perhaps 28-28/35-30 was too much for bobby?
8-)
-
Then what GP to OU :chainsaw:
-
Would love it. But that would only mean that Venzy might take over in Norman... :frown:
Honestly though, there's gotta be a time when your a Big XII South coach where you are all like, "JFC I got to GTFO of this hard division, my team can be absolutely loaded and still finish third in the South."
-
from a respected sooner website.
Stoops himself was a defensive coordinator before hitting the big time at OU. Jim Tressel went to Ohio State from a lower division. LSU stole Saban from Michigan State. Urban Meyer became the prince of Gainesville after jumping out of Utah.
Even Gary Patterson turned down his alma mater (Kansas State) to remain at tcu.
Stoops leaving Oklahoma for Notre Dame just isn't done in this day and age. Coaches think about it, they struggle with it, but leaving a $4 million a year job for the uncertainty of South Bend isn't a smart decision. And no one has ever accused Stoops of being dumb.
Les Miles was a Michigan man. Gary Patterson was a K-Stater. They both turned down their schools to remain in good jobs.
:dunno:

I thought they said Snyder ruined it. If it's the same one. good to be seen on the same level as Notre Dame, Michigan, etc., though.

Well, we ARE in the E15

This has only been the rumor for two weeks. You really should invest in reading the entire board before you post. I shouldn't have to tell a "seasoned veteran" like yourself that though.
-
omg. is the devil finally leaving us?
i hadn't heard about this rumor before reading it in this thread and it seems legit. i can always count on fatty to deliver some of the best threads ksufuns has to offer.
-
Agreed, fatty breaks rumors like this all the time.
-
What?? I did not see this coming. I guess I need to get my head out of the sand. Thanks for the heads up FFF. :kstatriot:

listen dude. if you have something mean to say, just say it. go ahead. i've had to take some tough things lately, so i think i can take what you have to say w/o missing a beat. (i think)
so, what is it?
:dunno:
-
hey man i was serious.
i like the breaking news type threads on ksufuns.com and you break a lot of great newsies, just like you did in this thread. remind me of a semi-young jack harry.
-
FWIW, I heard the rumor last week, but I didn't believe it until Fatty just posted it.

Don't give up hope yet!!
Going outside comfort zone here, but credible people saying today they believe Bob Stoops will wind up coaching at Notre Dame next season.

jfc, not happening. Stoops will retire as the coach of OU, bet on it.

Now that post was FOS. If Stoops has another year like this his ass is grass.
-
f3 NAILS it again.

you obviously don't live down here. Ou fans blame injuries, Kevin Wilson, and BV for the bad season. Bob could murder an infant at halftime and they'd cheer him for helping control the population.
As long as he sniffs the bcs every couple years, he'll never leave.

it's pretty hilarious that they've been blaming BV for everything basically since Mikey left (even though he's had like a top 15 defense almost every single year) and now they've moved on to Wilson (one year after they were the world's best offense). god I hate them. they deserve bob to leave and have to go through a Gibbs/Schellenafgeabar/Blake-ish run again.

OU fans are ridic bandwagon.
In '97 we walzed in there and just owned them in front of a half empty stadium. I was there and it was awesome. In the 3rd wuarter got permission from my pops to go talk crap to a couple of scalpers that had given up trying to sell their endzone tickets and were sitting by themselves for like 5 rows around. Was pretty fantastic. :steadymobbin':

Yeah, Ou fans are the absolute worst. I'd rather be living in Kansas again and deal with uk fans.
I heard a guy call in on sports radio the other day seriously ask the host of show is OU suffered "the worst season of injuries in NCAA history."
-
I can report to you today that Bob Stoops has not only agreed in principal to a deal but has actually signed the contract earlier today. I suspect a press conference will be called for Friday but it depends on how Stoops wants to approach OU.
This is not from a 'source'- I am the source. My brother works at the agency that has worked behind the scene since shortly after the Pitt game. No academic restrictions were lifted- insulting for anyone to raise that issue. The terms of the contract are straightforward and will not be discussed openly and will not be released publicly. I can tell you the issue centered about guaranteed money which is something we were concerned with but we have access to this required money and at this stage we will not be left short of our goals because of money- that was a fault of Mr. Kevin White.
Stoops desire to come to Notre Dame is an effort to build back ND like he did at OU. The talent is there and Stoops sees his legacy in more of restoring luster than maintaining programs. Stoops has been the ONLY target ND has reached out to. Brian Kelly, etc have never gotten a call from the agency or ND. From what I was told- Meyer had his chance back in 2005 and that ship has sailed. Stoops reportedly said "Bring on USC" when he signed the deal.
ps- I dont need more friends or 'phantom supporters' from a message board. I report this to you today because I have the information and ND could use a shot of good old fashion 'good news'. I signed up today to provide this information and after the press conference on (I think Friday- could be Saturday) I will leave this site.

vic and cosh can gtfoomf. bring on venzy.

LOL that is so bogus

Pretty sure that would be Marshall who had worst injuries ever! :-[ :-X
Absoluty right on about Stoopsie. He could take out half of Norman and it would be considered urban renewal and justifiable redneck-i-cide.
The blame around these parts is the cheating players at BYU, Miami and Texas who setup and injured the players.

I think Bob Stoops will be a pretty good hire for Notre Dame.

i'm so glad I read Fatty's threads

"Bring on USC."

"Bring on USC."
that was the clincher.

that would be an increddy elite moment.
think about gpatty saying "bring on the horns" after inking a 6 year 20 million dollar deal.

I hate that I always confuse SuperG (elite poster) and Special_K (garbage poster). Special_K will post some sort of garbage, and I'll think, "gee, that superG guy let me down". But he didn't. It was the garbage poster whose username starts with a 2 syllable S-word and ends with a capital letter.

It was an honest mistake, man, and I really could give a shbt less what your opinion of me is.

And once again, you flatter yourself by thinking that your opinion matters to me.
And lol at you of all people talking about "garbage poster."
