To be fair, right before the TD, UCLA called a timeout after USC kneeled the ball.  I would love to have Pete as my coach.

Pete wouldn't do squat at ksu. He has the best talent in the country year in and year out and plays in beautiful, sunny LA. I bet hew would be a less than .500 coach at a school like ksu. Not saying he isn't a good coach, just stating the obvious. To win at a school like KSU you have to do with out a roster full of blue chip recruits.

So you honestly think Pete could run his pro-set offense at KSU & win big? LOL worked so well for Prince. Name one other school in D1-A that runs the offense that USC does and wins? It takes ble chip talent at every position, even Florida runs a more spread, QB run type of offense and they recruit at the same level as USC. If you really think PC would win big in Manhattan then thank God you are not the AD at KSU

I can think of a lot of D1-A coaches  that could be successful at KSU but PC isn't one of them.

The fact that you think Ron Prince's offense was the reason he failed is just another example of how little you know, and your ridiculous thoughts aren't even worth discussing.

Georgia
Alabama
Arkansas
LSU

ans that's just in the SEC off the top of my head.  Most of the ACC runs the pro-set as well.

Worked really well for Callahan at nu as well. Running pro-set type offenses where the qb does little if any running doesn't work really well unless you have 5 nfl type linemen. If you think Pete would win big at ksu then its you that doesn't know $hit about football mc. Do you think he magically recruits top five classes to manhattan? Osbourne pretty much set the blue print for cold weather type of schools to win, he never recruited top 10 classes until his last couple, he built his program with a redshirting program, especailly for line men and get the skill players any way you can, the end of partial qualifiers hurt both ksu & nu and guess who mandated ended the partial qualifiers for the big 12? Texas, another school we will never recruit with. Due you really shouldn't talk down football knowledge to other people because you really don't squat about the sport from what I have read of your posts :flush:

Hey, here's a newsflash for you mr. catfanatic:  There are no hard and fast rules for creating winning football programs.  You can win or lose playing any style (no matter the weather, LOL @ that take).

And your irrational hatred for Pete Carrol is strange.

My point exactly. Great athletes=wins anywhere, I agree 100%. So you're saying Pete recruits top 5 classes to KSU if he would ever come to Manhattan? (which will never happen anyway making this entire argument stupid).

If Pete would quit at usc and set up residence in Manhattan then he would have to learn to win with top 20-30 type talent, could he do it? Maybe but I have my doubts and do not think he would be a good fit. After 10+ years of winning big Snyder never out recruited usc, texas, ou, florida, nd, michigan, ohio state or any other traditional football power and never will, period. I don't hate PC, just saying he would be dealt a much different hand if he coached at KSU.

I'm all for Running up the score, but Carroll is a jackass. How do you bitch about a two pt conversion the week before and then call that play and act like a five year old.

We are going to have to agree to disagree on this one dude. Put any coach you want to fill in the blank at KSU and he is never going to out recruit Texas in the state of Texas, or Florida in the state of Florida, etc. etc.

A coach at ksu had better learn to find the diamonds in the rough, or lessor recruited athletes, which is why I thought Patterson was our perfect fit and I wish it would have happened last year. He wins big with talent that for the most part texas & a&m did not want, but I do not want really want to go there because it did not happen.

I bet he could field top 20-30 teams and absolutely destroy the North in recruiting (and therefore on the field).  Which is really all I want at KSU.  You're kind of a tard if you want/expect more.

Maybe if he could get assistant coaches with texas recruiting ties, I have doubts on that one. He is a great coach but I haves still my doubts as to his poetential success at ksu. If it ever happens and Pete wins big at ksu then you can tell me "I told you so". ;)

BTW I want the same as you to win big again, we just see things a bit differently. I just wish our coach was 15-20 years younger because Snyder is a great coach I just wonder how much is left in the tank. What happens in 2-5 years? That is makes me nervous.

You said yourself he would get top 20-30 talent.

Whatever he is never coming here anyway so we are senselessly arguing, like I said I am a lot more worried about the next 3-5 years for KSU's football program than I am about who could potentially leave a top 5 program and come to Manhattan. I honestly think the next head coach is already on staff and that makes me very worried.
Granted better than Prince but not top of the north/big 12 IMO.

Carroll is a tool,  this just further proves it.  He's embarrassed about this year and just taking it out on someone he can, because he couldn't do it against someone who actually matters.

I love the "k-state hate" towards great coaches from big time schools.  Its almost as predictable as the "omg the media is out to get us" schtick.

Personally I think we should embrace it more.

True.

And I agree, this thread took a retarded turn.

I don't blame Caroll one bit . . . USC was trying to run out the clock and Ricky was being a prick like he always has been . . . Pete dropped a bomb on him.

I love Pete for doing that.  Once a coach calls time-out to stop the clock, he's telling you he thinks the game's not over yet.

Agree with this.  Especially in a rivalry game.  And K-State fans would love it if we did this in a game, especially against ku, NU, or UT.

In fact, we did kind of do it against NU with Sproles and Snyder was seen as a hero.
