FWIW
First things first the stadium was nice and new...Obviously it would have been a lot better had it been full (but the attendance was on par with all the other tourneys).
Indiana had the best following makes since considering the tradition...Dayton probably had the second best following which I thought was surprising. Daytons fans were the nicest people and very entertaining to talk with...KSU comes in 3rd for attendance which is pretty good.
I thought the first game was a horribly called game(60+ fouls= 2.5 hour game)...The rest of the games were called pretty well a couple of questionable calls but nothing big...The score keepers messed up big in the Dayton game so much that ESPN will not be contracting with them next year (lets just say the official score keeper was texting the entire game)...I got to meet a lot of the refs at the bars following the games, pretty cool guys...They all told me they LOVE Frank Martin "one of the best coaches to work with out there." Perhaps this is why he has very little Technicals called on him.(Pat Knight the worst guy to work with)
:dancin:Our fans get the best party award...Far and away the bars down there loved our group. And for the most part the bars down there were pretty cool. The Puerto Rican women are all beautiful. Their only flaw is they are all gold diggers just looking for their next meal ticket.
Shared a taxi with the Mcgruders on Thursday night...They definitely lived up to the hype...They are just awesome people...I didn't realize it was them until I was talking about how Rodney won that game for us...They went silent and humble..so after the awkward silence they finally told me they were his parents and didn't want to talk him up too much...just some real grounded people and fun to talk to. :notworthy:
One of my biggest Highlights was meeting Frank Martin's Mother. Sweet little Cuban lady that was just a blast to talk to. Franks Uncle was with her...I told them that the K-State family loves how hard Frank works and how I hoped he would stay here for a long time...Franks Uncle told me Frank is a Loyal guy and loves it at KSU and will love it there for a long time. :woohoo:
After the Thursday game there was practice late and the team looked tired for the Ole Miss game but they were prepared; they just didn't execute. Our team looked a lot better by Sunday, Which I think is a credit to our staff. If we played that way all tournament we might have taken home the trophy.

Amazing post. I am extremely jealous you got to witness and feel all the :kstatriot: from fans, player's and coaches parents (shoutout to Momma Martin if she visits these boards), officials, locals, etc...
My heart is very warm and cozy at the moment.
