He won't leave tcu for ku.  Even talking about it happening is a waste of time.

these are ku fans we are talking about.  ku football fans for God's sake.  In no particular order, here are some of the things that ku fan has believed in the past few years:

Dennis Franchione is going to leave Alabama to take over ku because he grew up in Kansas and was always a ku fan, he considers it his "dream job".
Terry Donahue is going to leave UCLA to take over ku because he was a GA there in the 60's and John Wooden told him what a great place Lawrence was (because JW poured concrete on the FB stadium)
John Cooper is going to leave Ohio State to take over ku because he is fed up with the critics and he was a GA there in the 60's
Mark Mangino is a serious candidate for the Notre Dame opening.
Mark Mangino was THE reason KSU built their program under Snyder, forget about Stoops, Stoops, Leavitt or Snyder himself, it was ALL Mangino
Terry Allen is an awesome coach because he beat KSU while at Northern Iowa
Darren Sproles is going to be no better than David Winbush
Todd Reesing is a legitimate Heisman candidate.

The list goes on, and on, and on...

Therefore, it is absolutely no surprise that they believe Gary Patterson, a KSU alum, would seriously consider taking the ku job.

I won't even spend 30 seconds worrying about Patty taking the ku job.  They're also mentioning Brian Kelly.  Whatever, ku fans.  Whatever.

Why are you gulping?  Then again, I don't want to know.

They'll hire Edsall.  He's Lew's boy.

That is, after they dig up $6.6 million to pay Mangino.

(You know what would be funny?  They can't afford to dump Mangino.  He stays on.  And he coaches a season in the way Lew wants him to -- as per the investigation - asking please and giving players hugs.  It would be a major hoot.) :D

Let them talk. Why in the world would GP leave tcu to go to uk? Even though tcu is not a bcs school it is still a much better job than uk. That is not even a lateral, if GP leaves it will be an upgrade, like ND, michigan, etc. etc.

As someone previously pointed out, ku fans should write down their top 5 dream picks and crumple that paper up and throw it away.  Those people aren't coming to ku.

it'd be kinda fun if he went there though. it would give me a reason to care about ku. without a big name coach or a coach that i already dislike, ku basically becomes iowa state or baylor to me in terms of football teams that i care about.

According to ESPN;
"I'm not sure Kansas is that much better of a job than UConn, though"
http://espn.go.com/blog/bigeast/post/_/id/5598/big-east-mailbag-part-ii-4
So, for uk fans...is tcu's program inferior to both UCONN and uk?

Lew is killing ku athletics and I'm loving it.

Ok, let's say the "It's Patterson" news is right this time and ku lands him.

Who dies? Weefer? Krause? Fitz? Can we just kill all three?

It's a pipe dream for uk.  GP is not going to have any interest in uk.  If he's so EMAW that he wanted to leave tcu for KSU, he's certainly not going to be pro uk.  If it's about money and opportunity, he will have a house full of quality suitors that do not have the warts inherent with the job in Lawrence.

I don't think they are going to be able to get the best coach available for uk with Perkins running the show.  Many in the coaching fraternity see him compensating for poor performance with a personal attack.  The results which could lead to the loss of further employment opportunities.  You or I wouldn't want to work for that kind of tyrant and quality coaches (that are accustomed to working from a position of advantage) are going to dismiss the job out of hand.
