We are all worse off for seeing you play college football.

That was the game.

I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
-
The fact that a walkon is #2 on the depth chart is all i need to f'ing need to know how bad our roster is.
-
That was the game.

Yep...terrible fumble. This team had no margin for error.

Thank god his football career is over. For EVERYBODY's sake....

Ok i can't call you a k-state fan if your mad at Valentine. The nebraska player put his helmet on the ball. It was a great hit. It was just bad luck, and Valentine made a mistake, u cant blame it on him. The Wildcats had tons of chances they just couldn't capitalize on them
-
I understand you are all pissed off but I'm calling BS on this tripe. KV gives this team all he's got and that's a hell of a lot more than a lot of players. Kid has been dealt a bad hand from Prince and instead of saying f*ck it; he did every thing he could to make himself and the team better. Sure there is not a player on this team that is going to feel worse about what happened on that play. Biggest improvement of this team this year is that they bought in and gave a damn; KV was a leader in that regard.
This was a better year on the field than we should have expected due to our talent. We should be proud that the seniors changed the culture and give them some credit for making it easier for this program to move forward.
I'll go ahead and stamp myself
:powertard:
-
Thank RP for putting KV in that situation.
-
I'm not mad at Keithen. If I was Keithen I would play on a D1 team and try my 'lil heart out. The problem is that he was ever on the field. Just an embarrassing lack of depth/talent. I'm sure Tate and Ty will turn that around in a jiffy though. :banghead:
-
Fatty, ur a better poster than that....

To those calling out Valentine's fumble, you must have never put on a helmet. Let me explain, when a helmet hits the ball directly the ball will be knocked loose. I'm aware you wouldn't know this feeling as you pseudo Wildcat fans that are attacking him only have ball to chin contact to compare this to.

yeah, go ahead and take your 8 man football and shove it up your ass.

it's division one football. if he can't take the hit without fumbling he can go play intramurals.

I Raise ur BS and say the Video proof prooves that KV caught the ball with two hands and had the ball tucked with two hands. Off to find evidence...

This shows nothing. Where is a pic of the actual hit? Watching it live I thought he had it covered up pretty good and it was just one of those things.
Need a pic of the actual hit.

It was an inexcusable fumble.
Go get drunk already.
-
The Helmet hit came from the right side if the ball was at chest level in front of him one arm on top one on bottom like your are taught when you learn the basics that ball does not come out, the ball was right of his midline and the helmet came in at elbow level and knocked the ball loose, so jrod if you know fundamentals you know this.
-
we don't need to disect some zapruder film on it. he could have had four hands on that mf'er, he fumbled the goddamn ball. on. the. goal line. it's inexcusable.
-
Back from Kansas State postgame. Keithen Valentine first one in to talk with reporters. Tearfully wanted to apologized to K-State fans.

Sorry zacker but the reason I am so frustrated is I still see the play running in my head over and over again, DT doesn't fumble that ball period, so agreed INEXCUSABLE!

dude it's fine. I've alienated like, 30 people here tonight.

I met him and as a person he is a great guy as a matter of fact he held the door open for me... But as a running back I cannot feel sorry for him, a mistake is a mistake I just appreciate that unlike some fans out there he is owning up to the play that gets my props(like they matter anyway!)
-
as a matter of fact he held the door open for me...
Wow!

<----- is also pissed that like 4 purple guys kicked it around like a soccer ball afterwards. :banghead:

nice videos looks like he's working hard but maybe he should have worked in some drills where he practiced holding on to the f-ing ball around the goal line.

Bitching does absolutely nothing for the situation that the season is over. The fact that we get Snyder's "first" recruiting class in is a good thing.... We all know that next season will be better than this season so there is nothing we can do about it. Right now the time is to look towards next season and realize that we will be by far better than we were this season. We all knew this season would be rough. We were lucky to be in this situation for a team that was supposed to take last in the north.
-
Won't be sorry to never see Gregory, Valentine, or Banks play again. Or Houlik or Pomele. God bless them for getting an opportunity to play Division I football instead of NAIA division 3, but they're just not cut out for it.
-
Houlik laid hits like a linebacker should! But one linebacker isn't good enough in a 4-3. We lacked depth at the defensive positions we needed this season. Prince fracked us and we need to realize it. Snyder played the best players we had.
-

They were more cut out for it than you or I were I guess (excuse me for assuming you were never a D1 starting football player in the Big XII) ... I'm just a mere fan. Every football player that passes, catches, carries, or returns a football will fumble the football at some point. It's too bad that KV's career will be defined by one; he doesn't deserve it. Despite being over-matched he proved to be the second most reliable running back on this team.
To be melt-down in this fashion and hating on the players is pretty bush-league imo. I guess I'm not sure how you're expectations got so warped in the first place. All in all, this season was a lot more fun than I EVER expected.
-
That fumble was fracking huge obviously. Happened right in front of me. I was already hands raised. Maybe my fault. :ohno:
I would say a huge play was the 3rd and 21 where Banks forgot how to catch footballs. He had the first down easy and was in space, so who knows, maybe he even scores or at least Josh Cherry would have gotten a chance to miss a field goal.
-
We are all worse off for seeing you play college football.
Fatty, yours is a piece of sh1t post, pure and simple. Valentine walked on and played solid for KSU during his career. He wrung the most out of his talent. He is not why KSU lost this game. If you don't realize it I now understand just how little you understand about football.
In other words I'd rather have Keithan Valentine and his ilk walking onto this team and busting their ass for KSU than anything thing you've "contributed" thus far. :bs: :twobirds:
Sam S.

Guess I don't understand this post. We're not allowed to point out, unless we played the game ourselves, that K-State football will only improve if we get players who are more physically gifted than these guys?
I appreciate the effort all these guys gave. They certainly did better than I expected them to do this year.
That being said, they all have at least one major deficiency in their game that has hurt us at least once this year, whether it's lack of height, lack of strength, lack of athleticism, lack of size, or lack of speed. Bless them for performing as well as they did given their physical limitations, but the fact of the matter is that we will only become a better football team if we replace them with players who have fewer physical limitations.
Heart, effort, and coaching can only get you so far. If you're 6 inches too short to pull in the pass, or don't have quite enough arm strength to get the throw far enough downfield, or can't run quickly enough to cover the receiver coming across the middle, or aren't big or strong enough to hold on to the ball by the goal line, there's not much you can do to improve except to replace those players with players who can. Eventually, you've got to be able to make a big play, and what we saw the last couple of weeks was the difficulty in making big plays when there's not much margin for error given physical limitations.
It's why folks around here harp so much on the question of whether Snyder will be able to recruit better players. He may be able to coach circles around a Pinkel or a Pelini, but if those guys are lining up with a substantial talent advantage, you're still going to lose most of the time.
Again, thanks to the players for their hard work. But we're not going to get better unless we bring in guys with fewer physical limitations.

I have a class with Keithen at 9:30am tomorrow (Monday) morning. Our professor is a Nebraska grad and a huge Husker fan. Prof had a bet going with Keithen for the game: If Nebraska won then Keithen has to sing the Nebraska fight song in front of our class of 100 people... if K-State won then the prof would shave his head.
Nebraska won but Keithen was not expected to factor in the loss like he did. Tomorrow morning is going to be verrrrrry interesting.

All the nu fans crowing on this site crack me up, bragging for what? You tell us you beat a crap team last night. Let's face it the big 12 north has been pretty much a joke since 2003. nu has been a lot better than us in that time frame but they have not been a factor in the mnc hunt since 1999.

That was the perfect hit to jar the ball loose, and Valentine was doing a good job of ball control. It's just one of those things we'd like to work in our favor, but it didn't.

To say Gregory, Valentine, Banks, Houlik and Pomele are "not cut out" for D1 football and it was so far of a stretch that the only explanation was that they were blessed by the almighty is kind of ridiculous. Granted, they were not the best D1 football players we've ever seen, but every one of them, at times, played at a very high level and almost always played above NAIA levels.
