Cuesta College prospect Kristof Ongenaet kicked the recruiting process into high gear when he took his first official visit over the weekend. The 6-foot-8, 225-pounder took a trip to Manhattan, Kansas to check out the Kansas State program being built by Bob Huggins.
Along with the Cats, he's looking at San Diego St., Montana St., Pacific and UC Irvine.

He hasn't been offered a scholarship yet. He may be better than we think he is. Huggins may just be bringing him in to put pressure on other recruits to commit. None of us know squat about the subject. But I agree, I would rather see a higher profile recruit get that last scholarship, unless that is, there are going to be more scholarships available than we know about...

Sounds foreign. We always tried to hire right off the boat, they tended to work a lot harder than the natives. Having a foreign sounding name is clearly worth another star, two if he's really not from the US.

He's our pekker markkanen.
