ha ha, no. stick to salina hs sports analysis, noob.
-
We only beat an 0-3 team by 10 pts or something
I feel like someone needs to pay. I vote we give a wedgie to Josh Cherry.

WTF is ur prob, douche?

What's the point of even posting this? Especially considering you really have no idea what you're talking about. . .

Hmmm, no counter-arguments to suckage yet.

What are the powertards saying about the game?

So, you didn't watch.
You didn't listen.
Seems like you kinda suck.

Denis is playing horrible. Pissclams has to just be loving this.
-
LSOC, how about some input?
-
We go as Denis goes. Denis sucked today. Hopefully this was his off game and gets back on track tomorrow because we will need him to beat Ole Miss. Boston also hit 40% from three which made the game look closer than it should have been.

this is the reason why i argue that denis hurts this team. our offense cannot afford to rely on his limited offensive ability, yet we do.

Bad first half. They fouled like crazy and we couldn't hit a free throw to save our lives. Pretty sure they had one guy with 4 fouls and 3 guys with 3 in the first half alone. We sounded better in the 2nd half, but I still wasn't impressed. McGruder and Henriquez had good games though. Rodney couldn't miss. Boston had some good shooters that kept the game close and as bullfn33 said Denis had a bad night. I'm just glad we won, but obviously we need to get better. :kstatriot:

I think we are going to be demolished vs Miss
-
I don't think we're getting the kind of defense right now to play the way Frank wants to play. That was especially true in the first half of tonight's game. We let Boston get shots and control tempo up until the last 4 minutes of the half or so. Then the 2nd half we had spurts of decent play, but were just complacent enough to let Boston hang around a bit.
And there are some valid points about Clemente here, he is off right now (22% like tonight won't cut it, especially when he takes 11 shots) and I wouldn't say Jake is playing great. Those 2 have to get going. Then probably our next best player right now, Samuels, didn't get going really until the 2nd half. Kelly had a quiet game for him, still ended up with decent numbers and in many ways it was 2 FR that helped a ton tonight, especially McGruder and to a lesser extent Hen-Rob.
Throw in what was a terrible FT performance until the last 10 minutes (we were 15-30 at about that point, finished 13 of our last 14) and we let a team we probably should've beat by 20-25 hang around more than we should.

3-0.
But seriously, this is your analysis? Not terribly surprising, but still.

we won. that's way better than losing, imho. and our freshman guard dropped 20. we lost to gm and barely beat ucf and rider with fracking beas and walker.

sorry dude, but our basketball team sucks.

All I know is we won by 10 and Frank said we played like a 9th grade high school team. With the quality of the radio broadcast I'm not sure how anyone really knows any more then that.

NOOOO!! We need Josh to be at the top of his game on Saturday.

This.
I think it has a lot to do with freshmen getting playing time, not fully understanding the level of defense that they need to play. Denis will be fine, the team will be fine. We might be sloppy now, but we should look completely different come January.

He mentioned it in the post game as well. Said we have problems anytime we get 3 of the new guys on the floor together at once, so he's got to be real careful with his rotations right now. Usually you worry about getting the right mix to get a rhythm for your offense, but for a Martin team you have to get a rhythm for your defense. We just seemed to struggle to that going tonight. For most of the first half this was a muddied up, low possession, half court game and we are going to struggle anytime a game is like that.

We'll be fine in any type of game once the defense is better.

True, but 9 out of 10 times our defense being better will raise the tempo of the game. But yeah, even in a Doc-ish game if we defend we'll be fine.

patience. i'm always the calmest before the storm. i fully expect to get our ass handed to us by ole miss, but once it actually happens, I'll probably post some things I'll later regret.

it's basketball. when it comes down to it, it's just not a big deal.

I'm not complaining about 3-0. We would have lost the game last night the past two seasons.
One thing that does kind of suck right now, like a lot, is Dominque Sutton.
Seriously, wtf? It's like he's gotten worse on the offensive end, which I thought was literally impossible.
Definitely time to start Jam Sam.

early season panic threads make me laugh.

Yeah. I think he needs to start shooting some basketballs during practice instead of doing defensive slides (heels not touching, butt down) over to the side all practice long.
-
This thread is very Woolyesque :skillz:
-
They played zone defense most of the game. I don't think a Martin coached team has ever figured out a zone. Luckily, McGruds showed up as the zone buster.
Hopefully these guys wake the F up soon. Going to need some intensity to beat Ole Miss.
Listened to that redic broadcast last night, I think there were 150 fouls called, painful game.

this was pretty much my fear (on the offensive end) going into this year. Our 3 spot doesn't "produce". Samuels works better at the 4. Gruds should be at the 3, JamSam can Cartier Martin himself off the bench.

Gruds is definitely making a case for himself at the three. He's got the size for it to work.
In a perfect world I'd pull Dom from the starting line up so he could sit on the bench and think to himself about how the shooting of a basketball through the center of the rim is kind of like and important part of the game. Problem is I don't really think it matters at this point. Dude is a junior and he's huffing up airballs on about 50% of his jump shots. If he's going to be Chris Merriwether out there, then he better give us some all-american type defense and right now even that's completely sh*tty as well.

Agreed. Even Jamar has hit 3-4 from beyond the arch this season. Especially against a zone, I see no reason Sutton is starting over McGruder, Jamar, or even Russell. If they drop into a man D, maybe you throw him out there. But, again, if he can't score, why put him out there? His defensive stats are average.

well, um. they're just numbers. samuels is playing a 3/4 position and doing great adjusting. martin will have him where the defensive match ups dictate he plays. bottom line is that he is efficient and frank knows it.
