Title: This is the worst radio broadcast I've ever heard
Post by: Pike on November 19, 2009, 07:55:23 PM
And on top of that we're not up by 30, like we should be.

My mood right now:  :curse:

You think we should be up by 30?  If you saw either of the first two games, I wouldn't think you'd be so optimistic.  Tons of talent, but raaaaaaawwwwww.

The broad cast is pretty bad but better, well a little bit better than nothing

Who would have thought that we would miss Wyatt?

Ben Boyle and that other d00d were unbelievably snooze-worthy.  Who was that guy, btw?

The other guy is Mike Clark, former KSU "baseball" coach.  Dude knows nothing about basketball.

Boyle has the slowest delivery I've ever heard.  Actually worse than Wyatt and Weber.  Didn't think it was possible.

Having the broadcast team broken up has hurt.  Amazing how much you can miss Wyatt and Stan doing hoops.  Then the back-up color guy is Walters, and he'll be at the FB game as well.  Fitz used to do some back-up color, but it appears K-State has moved away from that.  So now you have Clark, who obviously has never done much color, but he's apparently all there is.  He did the Sunday game last week as well but didn't sound nearly as bad, but probably b/c Wyatt was working with him.

Boyle used to do color as well for radio hoops (back when TV games were few) and did fine, he's just not good at radio play by play.  You don't notice the things he's not as good at as much during the TV games he does, I think he does fine for the Fox TV broadcasts.  Just a bad combo on radio with him and Clark, but all we have to send to Rico.  I am kind of surprised they didn't send Smoller down in some capacity, he'd have been better at play by play with Boyle on color.

WBB game on Friday night, that's his primary gig.

You have an extremely high ksu radio team iq

That's what I figured, but really, which is more important?  I understand he's the voice of the lady Cats or whatever, but I'd think you would want a better crew in Rico, especially when we knew one of those games wouldn't be on TV.

Boyle has a slower delivery than a retarded mailman.  Terrible.

And, who decided on Mike Clark?  Other than the fact that he is employed by KSU, I just don't get the connection.  It's like they just miked up a casual observer in the stands.  He's basically responsible for foul totals.

The way he reportedly kept coughing, I'm going to assume he quaffed a couple bottles of NyQuil before the game. Would explain his comatose delivery.
I say reportedly, because I was listening to the country FM station that went back to  peckerwood music in the second half.

I agree it was horrible, but I have to ask, why dog on Wyatt? He does a great job with basketball. Complete opposite end of the spectrum from football imo.
