It usually works the other way around:
ku fans brag, lose, then whine.
These tumultuous times call for a little shake-up of this cycle:
ku will fire Mangino (whining), and will hire a big name and talk about all of their future conquests (bragging).
Lew Perkins is showing some political infighting skills, and speculation is that he's got a big name lined up to coach. There are a few unemployed big names out there, so this is plausible.
Thoughts?

uk can not draw a big-name football coach without causing a whole crap-pot of worry for the basketball program.
There can only be one favorite and it's clear the Self is in the driver's seat. No one of any prominence will consider the uk football job knowing that.

A lot of ku fans seem to think that if Mangino is fired then Kirk Ferentz, Tommy Tubberville, or John Gruden is going to be their new coach.
