Title: How devastating would a loss be for NU fans?
Post by: Cem Blasoflas on November 19, 2009, 01:16:59 PM
They've already marked this one up as a W.  15 pt favorites.  At home.  The CCG is right there and they can taste it.

They've beaten us 4 times in a row and they think their team this year is better than all of the last 4.  And they absolutely hate Bill Snyder.

Nothing can match the CU beating in 2001, but this might be as difficult of a loss for them to swallow since then...and they've had a lot of losses since then.

:bs: There aren't alot of people in Nebraska who "hate" Snyder. He is greatly respected and admired by alot of people there and abroad.

My bad.  I guess I was wrong.  It appears that they have great respect and admiration for Snyder and are fully prepared for a loss.

How do I delete this thread?

I for one, would enjoy seeing the NU faithful squirm. They are, by far, the most over the top sunshine pumpers of any fanbase in the Big XII. Powertard describes their entire fanbase.

An NU lose to KSU would push the faithful right over the edge. The screaming and knashing for a new coach would be heard in  :steadymobbin':Manhattan.

Typical comment from us KSU "fans".  I guarantee we would be the same way if we had 1/10 the accomplishments of UNL.

The jealousy some of you have is scary.

Can't wait for :skillz: season.

You have clearly not listened to their preseason shouting from the rooftops since the beginning of the internet. They are always on the brink of getting back to the good ole days. Every year.

Ok, cool.  I've never been one to "message board" or whatever it's called.  I lurked on KSU Rivals every now and then until a buddy of mine mentioned this site.

If UNL fans believe they're on the brink to the "good ole days" of the 9+ wins per season, that isn't being unrealistic.  They should be able to do that considering the North Division and 3 patsies OOC (not that we have room to talk).  Now, if they're talking about the "good ole days" from the mid 90's run, they will jump off the cliff soon enough.

I know quite a few UNL dudes and not very often to I hear them expecting to be back to the 90's.  They all believe 9+ wins each season with a few conference titles, BCS bowl games & a MNC appearance is acceptable.  As a KStater, I don't think that is impossible.

Can you explain yourself on how it's a pipe dream for the Nubs?

Can't wait for :skillz: season.

IMO, they'd fire Bo Pelini and appoint Tom Osborne coach.

They can't stand losing to K-State it hurts their ego.  Most the people I've talked to from Corn won't even acknowledge the caliber of coach Snyder is.   They say he is a "good" coach, not "great".

They're like old money snobs, only the money was pissed away on magic beans and hookers by their alcoholic father.  So they aren't rich, but their social caste requires them to continue to pretend to be rich and keep their dark secret to themselves.

I see no reason they will be winning multiple conference champions, or a random NC other than they are "Nebraska". OU hasn't won in a long while and they've got a great coach, impeccable recruiting, and a tradition every bit as good as NU's. Nebraska has long way to go before they start considering an occasional NC "acceptable". I'd never count out a tradition rich school to make that happen, but it's always just around the corner with that fan base.

There will be a melt down of epic proportions if KSU wins in Lincoln Saturday. Mark my words there will be many Big red fans calling for Pellini's job if it happens. As much as I would love to see it, I just don't see us winning Saturday. We have only won there 2 times in the past 40 years.

OU won a title this decade along with 6 (?) B12 titles.

Only 2 schools this decade have repeated as MNC champs, LSU & Florida.

You can rise just as quick as you fall.  With the turmoil in Lawrence, Booger gone in Columbia and Snyder building us back up (which is still 3 years away IMO) - winning 9 games, making the B12 title game (which COULD happen this year) and realistically being 1 win away from a BCS Bowl, it's already there but some of us (you) don't want to recognize it.

The worst part about UNL for the B12 North division is the hiring of Osbourne as AD.  He will assure they are back year in and year out and that doesn't bode well for the rest of us.  I like our chances with Snyder but you have to realize NU is very close to being a 9-1 team sitting around the top 10 in the BCS standings.  Thankfully for us, they pissed 2 games away.

I have no clue if Mark Pelini is the one for them but the dude scares the turd out of me with his defensive mind.  No matter where he's been, he's been very successful and has been involved in some phenomenal programs (NFL and NCAA).

We have a huge opportunity to become top ring in the North.  We all know Snyder won't be around forever so once he gets this baby turned around - it will be time for him to pass the reigns to someone special (who that is, I have no clue) :) and not wait for something negative to happen.

Can't wait for :skillz: season.

I don't have any problem with them expecting to be regular winners of the north, but multiple Conference championships, which means beating the better of the two headed monster that is OU and UT, and tossing in the random NC is ridiculous at this point. Tom went years and years before winning a national title and that was with little recruiting restrictions AND he was a great coach. I'm sorry if I'm not convinced that Pelini is within a mile of Tom's coaching ability. I just have to LOL at them considering winning an occasional NC as "acceptable". OU is on MUCH better footing than NU is and that is what they get. UT is on MUCH better footing than NU and that's what they get. Yet, they think they're almost there. They are a long ways from getting to that point.

Mark "Bo" Pelini is a godamn joke.  Dude sure looks like a great DC when he has LSU's talent to play with but he's on the verge of missing out on a freaking north division title in what is probably the worst year ever for this division.  If he can't run away with it this year, with all the talent he has, what makes Mr. Evridge possivly think he's going to dominate it in the future?  You guys got beat 9-7 by feeaking ISU.  At home.  Yeah, Pelini is very scary.

Geebus JT, your obvious hatred and envy for NU is just amazing. I believe it may be reaching catastrophic levels for you. You need to pull your finger out of your a** and put it back in your mouth.

What you fail to realize is, Nebraska PLAYED in the MNC game multiple times under Osbourne before winning it all.  I don't recall saying they will win a MNC under Pelini but playing for one isn't unrealistic at all.  Maybe you're too young to remember it, who knows, but I believe they played for something like 5 MNC's before finally winning one.

Osbourne was there for what, 25 seasons?  Break it down, that is 1 MNC game PLAYED damn near every 3 seasons.  Regardless of our inferior complex, that is damn impressive.

P.S.
Everyone had the "little recruiting restrictions", it wasn't just the Nubs.

Of course NU's history is impressive. So was Notre Dame's. I don't see either knocking on the door of a MNC. I just find it humorous that occasional undefeated seasons (what it almost always takes to get to the NC game) is acceptable when they are struggling to win one of the worst divisions in college football. For the sake of argument, let's say we win tomorrow and get the north. Can I start expecting your friends' goals for KSU? Or are you one of those guys that just assumes every old school power will automatically be one again?

Dude is sitting 7-3, and has an all around top 5 defense without LSU type talent.  Lack of offensive production has cost them a Top 12-ish ranking in the BCS.

IF the Nubs win out, they will be sitting around 15 heading into the B12 title game (hopefully we have something to say about that this Saturday).  Just 2 shorts years of a program-breaking season, it's damn remarkable what he has done.

Everyone wants to give Snyder props for having us where we are.  IMHO, and don't take this as a negative towards my beloved school, Pelini had a much tougher job to get his team where they are today.

Losing to ISU >>>> Losing to Louisiana.  Take your blinders off and realize it.

I'm a :steadymobbin':  so quit referencing me as a Nub.

So let me get this straight. Becoming a top program is going to be fairly probable because of their past success, yet it's more difficult to get them to a respectable program after 2 years than it is for KSU to do in one? Did I get that right?

You're an idiot, so it was a rhetorical question.

Notre Dame is sitting on 22 seasons of non MNC status.  Nebraska played in the game THIS DECADE.  Only 12 schools can claim that this decade and only 3 in the B12 Conference.  To compare ND to Nubs is comparing apples & oranges.

The last 3 MNC didn't have a perfect season.  The Nubs aren't struggling any more than the Oregon, Arizona, Stanford, Ohio State/Iowa last week, Cincinnati/Pittsburgh (no clear cut winner) and any other conference that doesn't have a divisional winner locked up.

Without our wins in B12 play, the Nubs have the division locked up heading into the last 2 weeks.  That says more than anyone mentioned above...

Note to self, Top 25 status in week 12 isn't "respectable".

So because I live in Nub land (Omaha to be exact), I'm a UNL fan?  I better tell KSU grads that live here to GTFO or their allegiance is in question.

I would call you a retard but prefer not to insult the mentally handicapped.

The company I work for is out of Richmond, Virginia - I live in Omaha due to covering a 46 state region & Omaha is a central point.  Within the next year, I will move to the Kansas City area.  I guess since I will live on the Missouri side that will classify me as a Tigger.

Well, you may, but you aren't right now you dumbf^ck.

How about I take a picture of the hotel here in Tulsa, post it with date/time stamp and watch you squirm in your shorts?  Hurry up and answer, I was to be in Greensburg 8 minutes ago and will now meet them in Wichita at 12:30-ish...

You will lose your e-cred, real quick.

No I won't  :users:

Didn't think you wanted me to take a date/time stamp of the hotel and post it.

Since you "know my name", you can call the hotel to verify I've been in Tulsa all week (since Sunday night).  Tulsa Marriott Southern Hills.

Heading out, I will check back with you later when I'm in Wichita.

Honestly, in my experience all NU fans are this dumb.  Makes you wonder if people of very low IQ are naturally drawn to NU or if NU draws down the IQ of its fans.  Chicken or the egg type of thing, you know?

Interesting perspective on the topic. I have no answer, perhaps it's better to not worry about these matters and just accept that, regardless of reason, they are the way they are.

Well, Stevie has cred?? That's news. Just an example of how big of a piece of s**t Stevie is. This P.M. was sent to me by one of your boards very own ( I wont divulge the name, cause I'm sure Stevie would ban the person or screw with their acct. it's his m.o.)
It shows that Stevie has a few cronies on here but I'd wager that the majority here thinks he's as big of a tool as he acts.

Hey,
Steve Dave is an absolute asshole.  His persona is to bully people on this site, which he somehow thinks is his since he is an administrator.  Do not equate him with other KSU fans.  I went to vet school at KSU with 12 Neb. boys and some became my best friends.  Nebraska fans are as a whole very classy and knowledgeable.  Please do not equate all KSU fans with this site or the asshole Steve Dave.

There you have it, in black & white

I would rather be called a Nub  :jerkoff:

Bill Snyder sent me a hand written letter that says you enjoy picking your nose and eating your boogers.  I thought that was an odd subject for him to write about, but eh said he feels passionate about getting that message out.  Oh, the letter also said that Bo Pelini has sex with his dog.

It would be “shooting your siblings in an Omaha trailer park” devastating for the corn knobs.  Assuming they can free a hand, from constantly patting themselves on the back for being so classy, long enough to pull the trigger.

Win, lose or draw (although a tie won't happen), I will be very much glad that 'Husker Week is over.   :cyclist:

If Nebraska wins (of course their fans 'know' this will happen), I expect the resident Cornflakes to gloat in our faces.  Just don't be 'classy' and keep dragging our faces in the dirt for too long a time, mmmmkay ?

If Kansas State wins (again Nebraska fans 'know' this cannot happen), I expect the resident Cornflakes to go 'pheasant hunting' until their next win and/or KSU's next loss and/or recruiting season.   I also expect polite applause from the Memorial Stadium crowd after the game ends...

Here is to a good, clean hard fought game.   And I'd like to see HuskerPride NOT be an oxymoron...

Anybody know the scientific evidence behind the disproportionately high percentage of ghey nubb fans?  It's odd that, while gays make up somewhere between 4 and 8 percent of America overall, nearly every single nubb fan smokes pole.
Does Nebraska openly recruit gay fans with high profile gays such as Larry the Anal Guy?  Did they specifically hire a gay football coach, the only openly gay coach in any men's sport?  Was Solich really fired because he refused to play ball?  Or, more directly, play with Osborne's balls?
