Will be good to "scout" the IU - Mississippi game
-
Taking off work early to watch IU/Miss at BWW (thursday boneless wings day btw)
:whomovedmycheese:
-
I can't scout two teams at once. I have to wait until brackets are decided and then go back to the VHS.
-
I think Ole Miss will smash IU.
-
Can mav and the rest of us do our bracketology in this thread?
-
Brackets!!! If so, we need to get on this...Dayton and Ga Tech already rolling. We don't want to be giving away any freebies.

Round 1:
Dayton @ Georgia Tech -- Dayton
George Mason @ Villanova -- Villanova
Indiana @ Mississippi -- Mississippi
Boston @ Kansas State-EMAW BIG!
Round 2:
Dayton Vs Villanova -- Villanova
Mississippi Vs Kansas State --Kansas State (will be a helva good game but we are simply too much in the front court and can match their speed in the backcourt)
Championship
Kansas State Vs Villanova -- Villanova Very torn on this choice. Sloppy KSU=loss. Poised KSU could easily see them upset 'Nova. :hope:
Bonus: Consolation Games:
George Mason Vs Geog Tech -- Georg Tech
Indiana Vs Boston -- Indiana
-
Very tender moment should Frank and Jay Wright match up in the final. Hard for these two warriors to go head to head given their long history of BFFing. Another earlier story line will be when Frank goes to shake Andy Kennedy's hand and does the pull hand away and sweep down the side of hair trick showing Andy that he is far superior to him sexually.
-
Just saw this on the yahoo in game feed:
3:29 Dayton - Chris Johnson misses a 999-foot three-pointer
That is a very difficult 3 to make....
-
that's a pretty good breakdown, mavrick. While I hate looking past opponents, I think we'll destroy BU. Good warmup game. I'd hate to see us trip up in the 2nd round but, unfortunately, I see this as a possibility.
I hope I'm wrong. Would love to matchup with 'Nova in the Finals.
I'll predict that our success in our 2nd and 3rd rounds will be in direct correlation with Clemente. The guy is either going to be inspired by family and have a Texas performance or he will be overwhelmed, start pressing and play horribly. I hope we see the former.
-

The possible Ole Miss matchup in Round 2 is a potential big time game and challenge. If it happens, will be a great measuring stick for both programs this early in the season.
-
Your average 999 footer is not an easy feat, I've only done it a couple of times after a good nights sleep and a good breakfast.

I agree that it would be a good test, but IMO the real "measuring stick" would be to make it to the finals and plan 'Nova. Ole Miss is solid and has a lot back from last year, but they were barely over .500, so I don't consider them a measuring stick unless our aim is to be a middle of the pack Big 12 team. In 'Nova you have a Top 10 team with some key players back that won 30 games last year. That is the type of team I want to see us compete against and see how we compare.
-
SCOTTIE REYNOLDS IS STILL PLAYING!?

No doubt. I just hope we get there. I still have nightmares about the Milk House.

Ole Miss had major star player injury issues last year and this year everyone is healthy. They have both talent and experience. I consider them a top SEC team after Tennessee/Kentucky but a step above LSU/Miss State/Fla and others.

GT now up 1 with 1:32 left...
-
Dayton comes back in last minute. 63-59
-
That was a crazy game. Grats Dayton.
-
I think Dayton will make the finals.

GM up on Villa 19-8 right now.

Bad memories, I want to face Nova

BTW, I swear Cox were supposed to add ESPNU to their HD lineup with that update a couple days ago.
Anybody know anything about that?
-
29-23 GM with 3:19 to go in first half.
-
Mr. Mason with a 9pt halftime lead.

I'm torn because I want to beat 'Nova in the 'ship game but I'm always up for a good upset. :ohno: :ohno:

Go for Nova you jerk
-
Few assists to alot of turnovers in this game. Looks like KSU is not the only sloppy early season team.
-
Nova just took first lead. 56-54 7:00 left in game.

This. Ole Miss lost Warren after just 11 games last year. He was averaging 19.6 points and 4 assists per game when they lost him. Couple that with the fact that they lost Polynice before their season started to an injury. Polynice is their best defender and averaged more than 10 points and 5 boards in 2007-08.
Both guys are back, and couple that with experience and the return of SEC freshman of the year Terrico White should make it an immense challenge. White averaged 18 points per game in league play last year. So their 16-15 record and 7-9 record in league play should be basically thrown out the window.
They essentially return 5 starters. It will be a major test.

Go for Nova you jerk
I am, I'm just finding it more difficult that expected. And stop being so mean SD. :nono:

I'm shocked! :yikes:
It's SOP for KSUFANtards to automatically assume nobody else has any problems. We like to assume everyone else is flawless when tearing our own teams apart.

67-66 GM with 36 seconds left.

Villanova shoots like KSU from the line. If they could make a FT, they would be up about 10 now.
-
NOVA takes the lead on a horribly ugly sequence.

NOVA UP BY 1!!!!!!!!!!11!!!!

:yikes:

Woot!

Gotta root for Ole Miss. I'm pretty sure that it was decided in another thread that you have to hate Indiana to be a good EMAW.

Thats a given, but whats better for an Indiana-hating EMAW, than beating Indiana?

Yes, this happened to me after "the switch" on every HD channel. I just had to sit on the channel for about 10-15 seconds and it would then give me picture. You might try pressing the exit button while your on the channel as well.
Once it gave me picture, it doesn't do it for that channel anymore, I think it just has to check with Cox to make sure your supposed to be getting that channel.

Indiana looks deceptively improved in the early going.
:users:
-
Pritchard looks like complete crap for Indiana
-
Ole Miss looking good :ohno: Indiana is still really bad though, tons of mistakes, turnovers, and can't keep up in transition.

Indy's defense fell apart and got run on but they are still making a game of it. Ole Miss will be a tough test...they will match up well with us athletically.

but not height wise, which is more important. but props to AK for having a team full of athletic midgs.
they will want to run the same tempo as we do but won't have the height to score/rebound in the paint. too bad, so sad - i smell a Rico 'ship!

Clemente: clear with your expectations
(from ElNuevodia)
Natural Toa Baja, the base of Kansas State is aware of what you have to do to get to the NBA
Entering his final season of eligibility at the NCAA college basketball, Denis Clemente is rated by many listeners of sport as an exciting prospect for professional basketball.
What experts do not know yet is whether Clement define will be a great professional athlete in the NBA, Europe or simply the National Superior Basketball Puerto Rico.
Clemente, a native of Barrio Pajaros in Toa Baja, however, knows very well what to do to try to reach the highest level of these.
"If I get to the NBA, I have to run well and guide this team to win," said Clemente, base 'senior' team from Kansas State Wildcats, and who tonight at 8:30 pm will play against Boston University in their opening match in the tournament 'Puerto Rico Tip Off "which measured eight renowned Division I college programs between now and Sunday.
"What we mainly look for a 'scout' is that a player is a winner. Let me know how well a team lead. That I hope to do this year and if I do I hope to succeed in meeting the goal of reaching the NBA, "said the basketmaker of 6'1 feet tall and 180 pounds in three seasons at the NCAA sum averages of 10.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.
Getting to the NBA would be for her mom Raquel Clemente and a win especially but not huge. That designation has already defined as such a success and what is the school that the 23 year-old hopes to complete next semester in Social Sciences.
"Basketball has brought me to a degree. My mother led me to this, "said Clemente, who has tattooed the name of his mother on his left arm with a flag of Puerto Rico and a ball of basketball.
"With basketball I've done things you never thought would achieve in my life. From kid was so immature and made many mistakes, but thank God I was able to develop and strengthen my mind to get where I am. "
Such growth as a human being is one of the factors that the leader of Kansas State, the Cuban-American Frank Martin, takes him to feel proud of the development and growth that Clement had in life.
"Denis has transformed him physically and emotionally. Three years ago, when he transferred to Kansas State from Miami, worked to increase his weight from 150 to 180 pounds. And his desire to excel in everything in life has been incredible. That has helped him to put his name in conversations from eavesdropping way to 'draft' of 2010 in the NBA, "said Martin, noting that Clement has served this year as a mentor for six new players who have been teaching both the plays that are designed on the computer
Luce then be that behind Clement's life are a couple of episodes that game suspensions sought him a few years ago, the last one that convinced him to leave the Miami Hurricanes to go to Kansas State.
Ahead lies the challenge of using his speed and play a better direction to achieve their dream of living again.
