Title: Petro 810 . Cartier not a clutch guy that team needed.
Post by: opcat on February 27, 2006, 01:00:15 PM
Said Wools teams are good practice effort teams but not game day clutch performers.

Said Cartier was not the answer as a last second scorer.

I agree.

Cartier is a very good player and has been great for this team.  But after the endings of the BU, OSU, and MU games I can't blame coach for looking for another option for the final play.  Its hard to set up Cartier for a shot with just 10 left, but I can see why we'd get the ball to David with some space around him to attack.  Granted, it wasn't executed to perfection (with Gray tipping it away) but we still got a couple good looks at the basket despite that.  We just didn't make a play.  Again.

Cartier was hardly the problem this year, whether he's been clutch or not. The list of problems is plenty long before Cartier even comes close to appearing on it.
