MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Big 12 Conference and ABC Sports announced Monday that Kansas State’s football game against Texas at Bill Snyder Family Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 11, has been selected for over-the-air distribution by the network.
ABC Sports, however, has opted to use the last of its three six-day picks to set the game time and will telecast the matchup at either 2:30 p.m. (CST) or 7 p.m. (CST).
Should ABC set a 2:30 p.m. (CST) kickoff for the Wildcats and Longhorns, K-State’s men’s basketball season opener against William & Mary on Nov. 11 at Bramlage Coliseum will tip at 8 p.m. (CST). If ABC elects to air the Texas-Kansas State football game in primetime at 7 p.m. (CST), then the Wildcats’ basketball game will start at 1 p.m.
ABC and the Big 12 Conference also announced that the network will televise either the Nebraska at Texas A&M game or the Texas Tech at Oklahoma contest in the time slot opposite K-State and Texas.
Network officials will determine which game will be placed in each particular broadcast window following the outcomes of this weekend’s games. As a result, Kansas State will be unable to announce the official start times for both its football and basketball games on Nov. 11 until Sunday, Nov. 5.
Fox Sports Net, which also has two broadcast windows on Nov. 11, has elected to telecast either the Nebraska at Texas A&M matchup or the Texas Tech at Oklahoma game at 6 p.m. (CST). FSN will telecast the Baylor at Oklahoma State game at 11:30 a.m. (CST).
Kansas State’s appearance on ABC on Nov. 11 marks the fourth time this season that the Wildcats have been selected to be part of the Big 12’s weekly television package. K-State’s three previous selections have all been on Fox Sports Net, including this Saturday’s game at Colorado.
The Wildcats have not been tapped for over-the-air television distribution on ABC since K-State played at Texas Tech on Oct. 15, 2005. With its appearance on ABC vs. Texas, Kansas State has now had at least one game broadcast by the network for 13 consecutive seasons.
ABC’s last visit to Manhattan dates to the 2004 campaign, when the network televised the Wildcats’ matchup with No. 2 Oklahoma on Oct. 16 of that season.

Can you imagine what will happen if we beat the horns?
-
Even better... WE beat the horns, and the winner of the NU vs. MU game loses a stinkfister.
-
Maybe it's just me, but I'm hoping for the 7pm football start and 1pm basketball start. I hope it's freaking cold and it starts snowing about 6:45pm.

Would be the best thing that happened to us in that game....
-
Wait, wait, wait! Am I reading that right? Are you telling me K-State has a shot at being the ABC primetime game? That would be friggin sweet!!!
I hope we get that primetime slot, it would be too great
:woohoo: :woohoo: :beerchug:
Is the Huggins opener suppose to be televised as well?
-
Im hoping for the 7 game so that I can get off work and still make it in time to tailgate for a few hours.
-
i honestly hope the b-ball game is at 7pm cause i can only make whichever is at night and i'd rather go to that. i'm scared of what texas will do to us, esp on national tv.

I think if we beat CU, we have a good shot at the primetime game. If that happens we will be at 6-4, and some of the pressure will be off, because we know we have a bowl game atleast wrapped up. Then add that to being on national tv, I think we have a good shot at a upset...or getting massacred, but as of now, i am hoping for the primetime slot so I can watch from the comfort of my home, and not some steeler infested bar.

We beat Tejas, Mizzou loses @ Nub and @ Iowa State and then we beat ku (we had already beat CU) and Nub loses to CU and @ A&M. Big 12 North Champs anyone?? I would give that all maybe a 1% chance of happening..

I had always figured it would be a football game during the day, and basketball game at night. More I think about this more I would love to see just the opposite! Soak up the atmosphere at Bramlage Mausoleum...err Colliseum then get over to the Bill for a prime time match-up. YES!

My vote is for 2:30 kick and 8 pm tip...
Talk about a full day of tailgating! That would be awesome.
