1. Defense: They play none. KSU's total defense ranks just above ISU in the North. Thru last week, they were allowing on average 409 yds per game. Luckily, KSU faces a subpar Mizzou offense tomorrow and a pathetic Nebraska offense next weekend.
2. Talent: They lack. Prince left the cupboard bare, believing that JUCO recruiting would be the glue to hold the program together. He was wrong. But Snyder is back, and if anyone can coach up a team, it's Bill. He's proven that nobody turns around a program like he does.
3. Nebraska: Nebraska's defense is arguable the best in the country and it's a road game. NU's defense held Oklahoma to a lone field goal and forced 5 turnovers. But their offense sucks, as stated above. Keep Nebraska's defense on their heels as much as possible, and hold onto the ball.
The kicker is, win the North and face Texas in Dallas. We all know how Texas has fared against the Cats over the last few years!
My guess? KSU finishes 2nd in the North.

Thank you for your candor, sir!

Do the stats lie? I'm not sure why you even bothered to respond? 409 yards per game isn't a stat to be proud of nor is it a fact that you can even attempt to argue. Go ahead though, if you feel the need to be proven wrong.

Yards allowed can be a very meaningless stat if you are creating turnovers and getting timely stops, which we are. Pretty dumb to grade a defense solely based how many ypg they are giving up. imo.

Something about allowing 800 to Texas Tech that might just skew that number a bit.....

Here are some very telling and factual defensive statistics that should concern you (and also prove my point). KSU, like I mentioned, is allowing 409 yards per game, the only team in the North allowing more yardage is ISU (435 yds per game). KSU is LAST overall in the entire conference in passing yards per game (allowing on average 291 YPG). Rushing defense has fared a little better, but that's mainly because they teams KSU has faced so far were pass happy teams. Since Nebraska passing offense is as effective as a slingshot in a nuclear war, expect Nebraska to run the ball up to 35 times. Against the top offense in the conference (TTU), KSU's defense allowed 66 points and 739 yards of offense. Nebraska's defense allowed just 24 points, and 259 net yards of offense. There's no arguing what the statistics show. Obviously, those game comparison's don't tell the whole story, but against conference opponents KSU's defense hasn't been anything close to average.
In KSU's defense, they have excelled in one important area of the game, and that is their turnover margin in which they lead the entire conference (+10).

Points allowed and yards allowed tell the whole story. What else is there? Yes turnovers and timely stops make a difference, but a defense must consistently do so. I can't say that really applies to KSU.

Thanks for bringing up how bad ISU's defense is. It's not surprising the thumping that Nubb put on them. Oh, wait.....

What about ISU's defense? They are horrendous, and KSU's is hardly better.
Where Nebraska failed at was playing offense. That's no secret and is a recurring issue. We turned the ball over 8 &@#%ing times and only lost by 2 points. We were also playing our 3rd and 4th string runningbacks.
What's your point?

Ya all those facts make it obvious to me we wont win the North. :blahblah: Except for the fact that despite the "terrible" D we are 4-2 in the big 12. You can talk all you want about yards per game. But if a team struggles to score agaist this defense those yards are pointless. If Iowa state held Nebraska to 7 points who is to say we cant do the same. Oh and I Think you said Iowa States D was worse than ours. Nice try though!

So, I just got done re-watching Yokozuno take on the Undertaker, I think it was Wrestlemania 91'. Classic match, lots of back and forth. Don't recall the victor, but I think it is safe to assume that wrestling is dead.

The TT game inflated those numbers so much. Yes, the stats say we are the 5th worst defense in the North, but we really aren't.

It is hilarious to see nubbfan coming over to our house trying to make herself feel validated. Nations top defense? Is that what you said? Yeah, you're "tearing it up" in perhaps the worst division in any legit BCS conference. KSU is just the leading turd in the north. Good luck with sparkles... hope y'all can stave off his herpes.

We held A&M to 14, with both scores coming against our 2nd team, CU to 6, and ku to 10.
Unfortunately for us, all those games were at home. On the road, we gave up 66 to Tech and 42 to OU. You know that old adage that defense travels? Apparently ours didn't get the message.

If numbers were all that mattered I guess we wouldn't need to play the game. Granted if KSU fails to show up we could lose to both MU and NU. Showing up hasn't been a problem of late for this talent bare team. Linem up nuber we shall see. I will just say though. We are playing at Nubraska. If we're to win I wonder what you rationale you would have then!!!! :D :steadymobbin':

Attention douche:
K-State is allowing 337.90 yards per game, 5th in the big 12
N-lite!!! :flush:
