Title: Freakin 810
Post by: McGrowlTowelZac on November 06, 2009, 03:10:48 PM
How come whenever I tune into 810 over the net, KK always seems to have the freaking 'racing boys' on?  Is racing really that big in kansas since I have left?  Here I am thinking I might hear some good talk on ku/KSU, but instead find the freaking racing boys.  Next, he'll probably talk about his stupid grill.

I listen to 810 occasionally up here in Ames and I cannot stand NASCAR talk!!! Racing belongs in the SEC!!

Rant over.

Anyway, have fun against Kansas this weekend!

They're on every Fri at 3.

Same damn thing just happened to me.  Probably haven't listed to 810 in a year and just pulled it up on the net to hear the uber retarded racing segment.  The only thing worse is the Smoke and Fire radio remotes.  When I lived in KC, those two things basically drove me to the 610 station (or whatever it is).

So I switched it off and started listening to local Atlanta sports radio.  Nascar takes a backseat to college football most of the time...as is the case today.

They're on every Fri at 3.

Does seem like an odd time slot though.  Most sports wrapping up the work day have one thing on their mind - college football.

racin boys seems like more of a tuesday at 2:30 time slot.

Yeah, I agree. I always forget and turn it on basically every Fri and am then all  :banghead:.  Granted I don't know sh*t about Nascar or about how popular it is around here.  Must be popular enough.

I like NASCAR, but can't stand to listen to talk about it for an hour.  This season is as good as over anyway.  Just skip it and move on.

Admittedly, I enjoy Kietz' intentional naivette and veiled jabs at the racing world and the racin boys' reactions.  He gets 'em pretty defensive.  Gotta find at least one way to make that segment interesting, I guess.

I DETEST NASCAR, but I would take it ANYDAY over that STUPID Smoke and Fire BBQ talk. That chit is just worthless.

The best thing about the hour with the racing boys is that it ends at 3:40.  Maybe next year it go from 3 to 3:05.  I can live 5 minutes of that c_ap.

I agree. NASCAR isn't meant for Radio at all. Also NASCAR seems to rile people up like no other sport. It's like people can't stand the fact some people actually enjoy watching cars go in circles ovals. Much more of a spectator sport than listening.
