Makes no sense, except apple loves to be f*cking stupid. OSX is UNIX, which you can copy and paste with ctrl + c/v just fine

At the top of screen on every mac menu there is the "Edit" menu.
You can select your text, then go to the Edit menu and click Copy, then click to where you want to paste it then click Edit -> Paste.
-
You can just highlight the text, put two fingers on the mouse pad and click the mouse button and your options will come up or you can use the apple key with C to copy then V to paste. Pretty simple.
-
awesome tip waks--didn't know about that

Found this for hemmy and all the other PC lovers:

Mac copy and paste is the same as in Windows.
Copy = Command + C
Paste = Command + V
Cut = Command + X
Command key is right next your spacebar, it has the ⌘ logo.
Take mjrod's advice and browse through the Edit menu at the top. It will show you the key combinations for all the commands.
Pay no mind to the Windows fans, they are only jealous of your new computer. :)

LOL WUT?
When I think of UNIX I think of xterm and 3 button mice, not CTRL-C/V.
