Title: TV schedule set.
Post by: michigancat on October 25, 2006, 08:04:46 AM
Cal looks like it will be a national FSN broadcast, and FSN Midwest isn't doing the "mtn" games @CSU and UNM.  I wonder if they will try to or have already worked out a deal similar to the MU/New Mexico football game earlier this year.  Both games in Vegas are televized.

What is mnt. Is that FSN mountain. How do out of towners get these games if they dont have direct TV. Can I just go to a sports bar?

Usually when it's been on FSN mountain, as long as there is no conflicts, it will be shown on FSN Midwest.

5 games not televised and 5 NATIONALLY televised games.

mtn. is the Moutain West Conference's own station, not Fox Sports Mountain.

Launched on September 1, 2006 by the Mountain West Conference (MWC), College Sports TV (CSTV), and Comcast, the "mtn." (the MountainWest Sports Network) (pronounced and referred to as "the mountain") is a 24-hour channel devoted entirely to covering MWC games from all sports.

Ah...yes.  Good luck with that one, jarrr.

mtn is the Mountain West's cable network.  It's basically not available anywhere but Salt Lake and Albaquerque (sp?)

The FSN Midwest games are only available in Kansas and the Kansas City Metro.  To watch them in Cincnnati, you'll have to convince a sports bar to have their DirectTV/Dish Network mailing address be somewhere in Kansas somehow.  It's kind of a crappy deal.  Since Texas and Texas A&M have a package pretty similar to ours, hopefully we will get some clout and get it changed so people can watch games all over the country.

Isn't KSNT-27 picking up some games?  I thought Mr. Kane mentioned that a few months ago.

On the FSN MW website it says they cover teams in Illinois, Missouri, and Indiana as well. So I wonder if I could just go to Indy and watch them since I only live 20 minutes away from Indy.

It's not exactly Fox Midwest...it's a special deal for basketball broadcast that is pretty confusing.  I doubt driving to Indy would work.

Jarr, if you want to see, them I suggest you become a DirecTv subscriber, and "move" to your beautiful winter home in KC, Topeka, Lawrence, etc...for a few months.

Please please please please please tell me the Fox Sports MW broadcasts aren't for Kansas-only like it was last year, and not blacked out for the rest of the country!!  I could barely watch a single non-ESPN+ game becuase of the stupid Big 12 blackout rules!

That's...idiotic.  Why would they do that?  Maybe I DON'T have to buy that satellite dish after all.  Thanks for bringing this up.

Sorry...but it said right in the press release that it's the same.

Now, I've HEARD that one can become a DirecTv subscriber and then "move" to KS or KC and get the games....Just what I've heard.

I thought you could get most games from all over the country with satellite. When I go to my favorite sports bars, they always seem to find the games. It make take a few minutes to re-direct the satellite, but they usually find it.
