Title: things you don't like at all but
Post by: Rick Daris on October 22, 2009, 09:34:52 PM
really wish you did?

only two for me.

1)shrimp. i don't like them. would be fun though. you can cook/eat them like a bajillion different ways. cold, hot, grilled, boiled, etc. plus they are kinda small and cool looking. seem elite.

2)bloody marys. hate tomato juice. would be the most fun drink though because every place makes them differently. you could be like an afficianado on them. ex-"bloodys? yeah, love 'em. best i ever had was a hole in the wall in st pete named killer larrys. larry only had one arm and instead of a pickle or something he put a piece of alligator in it. amazing. still remember it to this day"

Morning.

Would love to be a morning person.  As it is I hit the snooze 9 times, am running late to work most of the time and am generally horrible to be around until my 10 am snack.  I even get a little pissed as I'm going to bed just thinking about how I have to wake up soon.  Would be a lot easier if I could just "rise and shine".

This.

When I get up real early, like 5 am, I feel so good after like 10 minutes. But those are the hardest 10 minutes ever.

Long John Silvers.  :piratecaptain: Used to love it.  Now hate it.  Tried it off and on for several years trying to get the love back, but it just wasn't there.

But its probably for the best.  A cholesterol level of 500 just isn't healthy.

1. The feeling that you have right before you start typing a paper. Then right after you start and get rolling you are like, "wow, this isn't that bad." Wish I wouldn't have that strange feeling going into it though. :frown:

2. Working out. My mindset before running is like, "Oh, this won't be so bad." Then I start running and I feel like hell and want to stop ASAP.

This was the first thing that came to my mind when I read the thread criteria.  It's weird 'cause I actually love writing papers.

1) Micro-brews... basically any beer that isn't Bud Light or Corona.  I wish I liked something else so I could feel like a more civilized beer drinker.

Yogurt.

It's so convenient and there are so many different kinds that it looks like you'd never get sick of it.  Great breakfast to take to work.  I just can't stand the flavor.  :frown:

Great thread.

-Tomatos.  Love salsa and red sauces of all kinds but don't like whole or even larger chunks of tomatos.  It's all mental.  Probably taste awesome.

-Mushrooms.  Same thing.  Love the smell/taste of them in sauces or whatever but can't handle eating a piece of them.

-Shopping.  Hate shopping for clothes.  Absolutely hate it.  Love having elite clothes and stuff but hate the effort that needs to be put into obtaining them.

Mustard/Ketchup/Mayo- Hate all of these, would make life so much easier if I loved them and didn't have to order every sandwich/burger specially.

Obscure/Underground type bands. Yeah, some of them have some decent songs or maybe they're fun to watch at a bar, but usually after listening to them sober, I realize why they haven't ever really "made it". Seems so cool though, plus you'd have a way better chance with those chicks that are into it. In fact, if you don't like that stuff your chances with punk/goth/underground chicks goes way down.

Facial hair.  I have always wanted to grow a beard and or goatee and I have one for a little while but it starts to itch and annoy me.  I wish I could grow one and keep it for a year or more right now I get about a month in and I can't stand it anymore.  Too itchy.  Oh, well maybe it's better I don't have to worry about getting food in it.

^ This. Hate waiting for stuff to boil, then wait a certain amount of minutes for it to cook. Especially before I make Mac & Cheese. But it just tastes sooo damn good. :lick:

Drinking games. Sometimes fun, usually don't want to play. Mostly a null and void problem now as I'm getting too old to play in most situations.

Star Wars Episode 1, 2, 3, and The Clone Wars

I'm a huge Star Wars fan in general and would love to revere these newer movies and rewatch them with joy just like the old films....but I just can't.  I mean, I like bits and pieces of them, and even Episode 3 was not that bad as a whole; but the reality is that there is just something missing with these films (primarily good dialogue and characterization).  But don't get me wrong.  I'm happy these films exist as opposed to not existing.  After all, a sub-par Star Wars film is still better than no Star Wars film at all.  That would be similar to the morons who complain there are too many bowl games.  I just wish they could implant something in my brain to make me love these films.

I went to LJS after about a seven year break from it.  Definitely made me feel ill.  The time before that, I saw old Ken Turner eating in there.  He died from a heart attack shortly thereafter.

Well, other than LJS, I'm Ok.

And now that I know that I can't like LJS, then "i'm pretty happy with what i have chosen to like/dislike, not sure I see the need to make any appreciable changes to my current selections."

what if you like really liked most things and only liked other things and didn't dislike anything? possible?

i mean, i really like most frozen pepperoni pizzas, like the ones that i don't really like and dislike none of them.

what if the world was one big supermarket display of frozen pepperoni pizzas for me with an occasional pizza roll of jalapeno popper thrown in for variety? that would be great.

Building stuff, like "oh what did I do this weekend, I made a dining room table and 4 chairs to match it" or "yeah I just put up some framing and dry wall and bada bing bada boom, I added a new room to our basement", I just can't get into it, I can do simple stuff like changing light bulbs but I want to be like Tim the Tool man Taylor
