Title: No more leaving the stadium at half time!
Post by: S.B.R on October 20, 2009, 12:26:13 PM
First time to post but I have read posts

I have talked about this to others, but it deserves to be repeated to all KSU fans.  At Auburn they do not give passes out at half-time. Neither should we. If KSU wants to let fans pay an extra surcharge in order to go out at half time and then come back, then that may be ok.

The team needs our support and those seats should be filled with fans. I do not care if you like it or not, if you abuse what is given to you, then you should lose it.

what do you think

oh poor baby, guess I offended you. you must be a student who has to go drink up at halftime. hmmmm, guess it would be interesting to see how all you alc's handle not being able to have drinks at half time. I think it is time to start pushing the passes out denial.

Is this guy a sock?  Do they have socks over there?  Pretty dedicated sock to pay to sock it up.

also if you show up but then don't stand/cheer or get involved but prove yourself capable of such endeavors by bouncing up and down during the t-shirt launch then you are a jayhawk and should be forcibly removed at halftime.

Seems like the value of the pricey parking lot passes would be greatly diminished.

In a way, maybe the parking passes are kinda the "fee" for getting to leave the stadium?  :dunno:

My Goodness, what else do you have to do? Do you have a tennis practice or something?

If K-State is in a game that means something . . . I have never, NEVER understood why in the Frank people have got to pile out of the stadium, fight through people etc. etc.  Just to get out to their franking car/truck/tractor just to get their hands on another beer/drink and then come lolly-gagging it back in the middle of the 3rd qtr.   Disregard prior if it's a meaningless game.   Seriously, I like tailgating, but have never understood this, "the tailgate is bigger than the game" mentality exhibited by many.   I would think most of those people could get plenty of tailgate like atmosphere just by piling off the tractor at the end of the day, lighting a trash barrel or two, and pulling some natty light out of the old fridge in the barn.

That is exactly why I bought a house within ~0.5 miles of the stad.

Keeps me in the stands or the concession area (unless my son messes his pants or something -- he's a student btw).

Same here. I have found myself during halftime wondering and thinking, "man, hopefully those people return to their seats", because at times they don't. Then they just miss a badass B-Banks KR TD or something... :nahnah:

One the main reasons that I leave at half time is that I hate marching bands.  What a waste of money.

Half time should be dedicated to Frisbee dogs, students trying to kick field goals for dollars, etc.

Those &@#%ing band uniforms cost $400 a piece, and the ongoing cost of the band is outrageous as well.  Microphone up the Basketball pep band and let them play...ala the Redskins and Chiefs.

Take the money we save and go hire a Dalante for football. Much better investment.

Actually, I like the idea of charging people to leave and come back at half time.  Trick lots of them into coming with cheap tickets, then when they want to go out to their tailgate at halftime..BAM hit em with the charge.  Suck on that you stingy and/or drunk bastards!

The money raised could then be used to fund the hiring of an amazing coach when Bill retires.  Win win situation.

This.

Also, getting LSOC a few more drinks makes me extra uninhibited during the second half whenever I actually do come back in.  More than a few late game wins can be attributed to the extra noise I made that would not have occurred had I been forced to stay inside where they don't sell intoxicants.

Well first off I don't personally have any venue's to sell out.

But I think we all know why Cornhole sells out so much . . . there's only one thing to do in the hole(sic) damn state, and every high school drop out $hit kicker wants to be a part of it.

I leave at half because as my beer buzz wears off I start to get a headache...so its therapy really to go out to the truck at halftime and have a beer and come back. But I always come back within a minute of the following half kickoff and stay till the end.

Daxi, you do realize that NU fans were sending a message to the powers that be that we wanted Callahan gone. What better way than to leave at the half when your getting your ass handed to you and your coaching staff is clueless? Seems to me that it helped to send the message and expediate Clownahans departure. Now please do put your biased spin on this.
I have been to every KSU home game since 06' and I have seen and heard many, many ( how should I put this?) less than redeeming qualities expressed by KSU fans.
By the way that video ( don't own a DVR yet huh?) is probably hidden with your kiddie porn.

Any of you numbnuts ever think of buying a half-pint of something that goes good with Coke, like bourbon, sticking it in your sock, and spiking your soda during the game?  Geez, it ain't rocket science.  We did it all the time during the Terry Allen years.  Come to think of it, my father and grandfather did it too when they were in college going to football games.  In fact, you'd be amazed where you can take a half-pint of booze--the movies, mass, AA meetings, poly sci class ... all sorts of places liquor isn't allowed.

Here's the part where the little light bulb goes off above your head, you slap your forehead and say, "Wow, I never thought of that!" and then you write a response to this post saying:  "DUUUUUUUUHHHHH!  WE WURE DOIN THAT YEARS AGO!  ONLY LOSERS DRINK BURBUN!  BEERBEERBEERBEERBEER!"

Half time tailgating is more than alcohol consumption.  There's also food, avoidance of the band and port-a-potty sex.

F, you're a 'Haucker fan.  WTF.  Why are you commenting on this thread.  Jacknuts from that school never went into that crappile of a stadium in Lawrence (still don't - they just announce high attendance numbers to make it look better than it is).  Instead those ancestors of the past sat on the hill being cheapa$$ lame ba$tard$ so they didn't have to buy tickets.  Plus they though it was all edgy and cool to get drunk on wine coolers (oh, you call them a half pint, whatever - like any real man could maintain a buzz off of a half-pint during a football game) and feel up their boyfriends in public and feel all wordly for acting gay in public.  Sorry that you and your ancestors had to drink to take the edge off so all of you could drop the inhibitions.  So, don't drop advice to real sports fans who actually go into a stadium, cheer for their team, and know how to get loaded.

This same debate takes place over and over on Cyclone Fanatic. We let fans out at halftime, as well, and most fans don't show up until mid-3rd quarter if not at all. I have honestly never even considered leaving at halftime to come back, so I really don't understand why people do it. If drinking at games is your thing, drink enough before you enter the stadium, or, be creative! A ISU fan painted himself gold to resemble the Heisman trophy once so he could get a gold football shaped alcohol container into the stadium (the football is a prop on the Heisman Statue). It's stuff like this that make the gameday experience more fun, and to get your buzz on... lol.

Our section of the student (ICAT) section looked like a fracking liquer store there were some many rum, whisky, vodka bottles laying on the ground after the game.

I left after we scored our TD to make it 20-6... didn't get to see our INT to end the half....was back just in time for the second half kickoff. quickly disposed of three beers down my gullet in less than 20 minutes.
