iThink it's funny how every other smart phone's commercials try to slam the iPhone, yet the iPhone's ads just try to sell themselves...touting their apps, etc.

iPhone envy?

iPhone envy?

That would not bode well for Apple and their "I'm a Mac/I'm a PC" commercials then.

It's no secret that the iPhone has a huge following.  Why wouldn't you attack your biggest competitor if you are Motorola/Google/Verizon??

And to be fair, Verizon hasn't called out the competition in their ads until the last few weeks showing ATT's 3g map vs. Verizon's map.  And now the iDon't commercials.

I had a chance to play with the Android.  Instant erection.  Can't go into details but everyone that had a chance to play with it immediately started giggling like little girls.  It's incredible.

Meh, I don't need all the fancy-schmancy apps when I have the internet. The apps just waste storage space. If the iPhone's capacity was larger and it wasn't exclusively AT&T then I would be more interested in it. Also, Apple's warranties on their products are complete crap.

the apps are pretty cool imo.
i have an ipod touch and use alot of the apps in conjunction with the intranets.  i guess they're fancy, there are some that are just really handy.  would prefer to have just one device.

also, just read that the street (wall) might make a push at apple to get rid of their exclusivity with ATT.

Would be smarter to get away from AT&T exclusively for sure.

:dunno:
android's potential base (t-mob, vzn, sprint) is bigger than att's.  The app developers will follow the $$.  As cool as the iPhone is, i just don't see it holding it's position- also have to consider the high service cost of AT&T.

t-mobile and verizon really doesn't really offer cheaper plans.  sprint does, though.

So when does this crap come out, anyway?

And do people really think that Apple won't modify the iPhone to do all the things the Droid is saying it can't do?  I'm sure all those little things will be cleared up by Apple here in a jiffy.  By the way, "The Droid"??

android is open source.  the apps you put on an android phone don't have to filter through apple's approval process and app store.  if you're not aware, apple and att have been really strict about what they approve for use on their iphones.  inherently the open source community will have the edge.

Until these android phones can offer a price advantage over the iphone, I don't know how they make a dent in iphone's market share.

everyone is cheaper than att when you include their charges for txt messaging, minutes, data, etc.  at least i thought that was the case.

Tmobile is a little cheaper. Verizon is really expensive, on par with ATT. Except you get an actual network with Verizon instead of ATT's crap hole.

Hey Sprint insiders.  Is Sprint going to get an android phone with a snapdragon anytime soon?
the samsung moment (release set for this sunday) has a 800 mhz processor, which is the largest in the android space and much larger than this 528 mhz Gloid, i mean Droid. LMAO.

i would expect sprint to have the HD2 (w/ the snapdragon cpu) in 1Q10.

I'm personally waiting for the Samsung Omnia II to come out on Verizon (Supposedly in the next month or two) You should check out video's of it, It looks amazing. It has the worlds largest AMOLED screen (which means brighter, sharper displays, and it saves battery life over regular LED).

1.  Lot of K-Stater's in KC metro area
2.  Sprint was (maybe still) the largest private employer in KC
3.  This is the premier KSU site
4.  Mostly 'clams's insidery knowledge, though.
5.  My insidery knowledge was pretty well nil even before I retired.  My knowledge base was more in the switching and network areas...

Saw something similar HERE (http://www.thestreet.com/story/10618157/1/verizon-set-for-apple-boost-analyst.html), maybe I'll just wait until verizon gets the iphone and have the best of both worlds
