when was the last time kstate didn't have a juco transfer on the team? maybe back under hartman? earlier?
i personally can't recall a team without one in the time i've been obsessed w. kstate bball.
sidenote - was just thinking about the 2012 class and that if kstate doesn't get asprilla, they're only on track to have one 'ship to offer in that class. even with sprillsey, just two. seems like it'd be nice to get at least three in that class. of course transfers, etc. happen, but barring a top 100 type talent making himself available, it might be nice to get another juco in the spring to help balance the classes.

i am glad we're not shuffling juco kids through MHK anymore, it was pretty rediculous for a while.

sys, I think you have forgotten more about ksu b-ball than i will ever know. kudos.
Also never saw the good side of Juco transfers in bball before.

Mitch could be described as the good side of juco transfers...

Many/most of our better players since Mitch through Martin have been JUCOs. Hatcher, DeJesus, Ellis, Massey, Hoskins. Not that this is necessarily a good thing.

Hartman nearly always added a juco or two. Chipman, Dassie, Wills, Reed, Marshall all come to mind.
But they were pieces added to a foundation, not the foundation.

Hoskins wasn't a JUCO transfer was he?

I suppose it is a stretch to call him a JUCO. Similar situation to Asprilla, but when he showed up at his JUCO they were put on probation so they let him RS.

A top level JUCO guard in the Spring would make a LOT of sense. Was thinking this when reading through the "2010 line-up" thread.

Hoskins went to Central Michigan and Schoolcraft College before KSU.

dpete let a lot of people down.
a long juco wing with a jump shot in the spring would be perfect.
