Title: Maybe a stupid question: Are sacks rushing or passing yards?
Post by: michigancat on October 23, 2006, 09:40:48 AM
Do I understand this correctly:

Sacks count as individual rushing yards but count against the team passing yards total?  Why aren't they all rushing yards?

Rushing, passing in NFL. Count vs team in NFL, not against individual player in NFL.

Thank you madden.

I think it counts against the individual and team rushing total.

I think you're right.  Yahoo's box score was wrong initially and said KSU's passing total was something like 47 yards...they subtracted sack yardage.  It had me confused.  They fixed it, though.

I'm pretty sure sacks count against your rushing yards in college but not in the NFL.
