nothing like taking a potential All-American TE and never throwing him the ball, never setting up any plays to specifically throw him the ball, and pretty much relegating him to the role of a blocker.
I guess the fact that in the attempts to throw Mastrud the ball, our fine QB corp has more often than not opted to underthrow the ball by a good 3 or 4 yards or make him have to perform some kind of circus catch.
But again, nothing like removing one of your better offensive threats completely from the game plan.

V-A-N-I-L-L-A .....how many times do people have to tell you this?
Snyder is waiting to bust out the real offense until the important games.

My thoughts exactly.

Sonof,
You have got a good imagination. Use it for something constructive instead of always trying to beat down the cats.

Well how the frank would we ever know if he's an AA TE . . . he never touches the ball.
Don't allow your hate of Prince recruited players to get in the way of your thinking.
He was an Academic AA and you don"t get to be an academic AA without some playing credentials.
-
In support of dax, Mastrud was ranked number 12 among "draft eligible" TE's by Phil Steele. That's sort of "potential AA", I guess. Of course, that list also leaves out some hotshot underclassmen like the guys at ND and Georgia.

Hey, at least the defense looked fundamentally sound against Texas Tech.

Hey, at least the defense looked fundamentally sound against Texas Tech.
Funny, I don't recall seeing ku mentioned anywhere in this thread, and ku's last defensive effort yielded over 500 yards and 36 points to the "worst team in the conference" at home.
-
With our Oline, someone has to stay and help protect. Unfortunately Mastrud is finding that out. Seems like the pretty traditional 15-20 catch Snyder TE, but maybe less catches b/c he has to protect more. Snyder put several TEs in the league under the same plan.
-
Remember vz. UMASS when Carson would throw only to a triple covered Mastrud? At least that's not the scenario anymore.
-
I don't care how potentially good Mastrud is. He's one of our better pass catchers...and we never throw his way.
-
guys, this is bill snyder, he'll adapt the offense to fit his personnel. don't worry.

Uh, dude, if Carson Coffman is the QB Mastrud is about the only dude that ever gets a pass thrown his way. I'm sure every defense knows it, hence the quadruple coverage that CC tries to fit the late pass in through.

In terms of progress . . . ku just gave up over 500 yards and 26 first downs to an offense that only had 371 yards and 20 first downs against K-State.
You are an incredible dumbass.

Okay for fun, lets do some projections here. ku gave up 56.5% more points and 38% more yards to ISU than KSU. Applying that increase to what KSU gave up to TT, TT will score 103 points on 1,019 total yards against ku. Likewise, ku scored 70.8% more points and gained 53% more yards against ISU than KSU. That means ku will score 24 points on 435 yards of total offense against TT. Factor in that KSU/ISU was a neutral field while ku played ISU at home, and they spread should be greater.
Wow. Isn't it fun to play with numbers. :dancin: :beerchug: :piratecaptain:

Secret memo to all QB's from the clueless idiot coach Bill Snyder:::
"Do not throw to the tight end unless triple covered"
All QB's read and aknowledge by game time each Saturday.

AND they did it to ku at home on Embezzler Field in Ghetto Stadium. As I recall, the vaunted hawks get their chance to own Tech at home in a few weeks.

He's only an "ACADEMIC" AA because he's a marketing major. I mean come on marketing? Not the toughest major out there.

Two different games. K-State tried to play small ball and control the clock. Iowa State was also without Alexander Robinson for pretty much the entire game. That being said, do you really believe that K-State's defense is better than ku's?

I didn't know there was a team in this conference who's defense was worse than uk's

Pick on another fault defect or shortcoming for Bill to work on against CU. Your excellent rant on the TE's worked very well against the Aggies.

small ball and controlling the clock might have given ku a victory over the Buffs...but since they can't run the ball........

Avoiding putting the ball in Lamark Brown's hands is great.
