Title: Look at #38
Post by: Jeffrey_Martin on October 13, 2009, 10:36:14 AM
I think he would have been just what the Cats need:

Note there are no current Wildcats on the list. Just saying.

It's not our fault he gang raped someone.   :curse:  First you leave us with Kellis and then you throw salt on old wounds!   :curse:  j/k  I agree.

How's Houston treating you?

I'm convinced that if Bob Krause had taken over earlier as AD, Tyree would be a Wildcat.

Houston is good. No worries. Might be back in Kansas for Christmas break, and I think I want to get to a K-State game...

Tyree isn't really what the Wildcats needed imo.  He's not big enough to play the 3 and would only steal minutes from Denis, who's job it is to jack up shots from all points on the court.

Wait, maybe he's exactly what the Wildcats need.

Makes me wonder, who was the last great shooter we had?

Was it Beas?  He had a great shot, but I don't think most would consider him to be so. (I prob would)

Cartier?  then before that 'Ski?  I know the Asbury/Wooly years are a bit muddled now for me (its amazing how the last few years of bball have made those years seem like decades ago), but I don't remember great shooters.

Frank hates shooters.  Hates them.

buchi and fred (the only guys who shot worth a crap from 3pt land)

I honestly believe Frank would sacrifice shooters for athletic defenders. I mean, it's essentially what he's done this year...

Have fun in the MAC Tyree "misunderstood" Evans.

Oh, and #30 frustrates the frack out of me. :banghead:

I agree Martin could care less about 3 pt shooting.  His game plan is to score with hard nose defense/steals, off the dribble and fastbreaks.

Not sure why, but I got a chuckle out of that quote.

Sutton only played eleven minutes vs Wisconson.  I really doubt a coach would expect a ton of points out of any kid in that particular situation.

Possible "Great Shooters" Wooldridge Era (not including Cartier Martin since he was already mentioned):
-Lance Harris (44.9% FG and 37.6% 3FG in 2007-2008)
-Tim Ellis (50.7% FG and 34.8% 3FG in 2003-2004)
-Gilson Dejesus (44.7% Fg and 43.7% 3FG in 2002-2003)

I guess the only semi-decent (home) game around X-Mas would be the Cleveland St. game on the 29th?

Belvis Noland was streaky as hell and could catch fire from time to time.  Plus, he had the best name for a player ever.   :skillz:
