I went to a cider mill last night!  And I've seriously been apple picking! it's like all there is to do up here other than watch the leaves change color.  (seriously, the leaves changing color is a big event for people here.)

Forgot to add that each and every apple I ate was an organic gala.  Mrs. dave read something about pesticides on apples and her favorite kind is gala so that's what we get.  Totally have one in my lunch box again today, totally.

I had a funny moment yesterday at the cider mill.  it was for the preschool kids, and this guy talked about apples and cider and stuff, and made apple donuts, pretty much lived apples.  So when it was break time and the guy needed a snack, what was he munching on?  You guessed it - a delicious apple.

Much better for the body than getting a flu shot of any sort.

Well, I'll say this much.  I've had a lot of apples this fall and no flu shots.  Guess, who hasn't died of swine flu?  dis'guy (does double thumb thing)

fantastic thread.

i made quince butter the other day, but i threw some apples in (galas, small ones, not organic).  seemed like a good move at the time, but now i regret it.

going to make a quince tart tonight, want to keep it pure, but i know i'm going to face serious temptation to add apples.  not sure what will happen.

It's pretty cold here right now.  I may fire up the apple cider maching (microwave) and curl up next to the fire with my fuzzy EMAW blanket this weekend.  Mrs. dave can also make me an apple pie or some sort of apple concoction to take it up an apple notch.  LET'S ALL HAVE AN APPLE THEMED WEEKEND! This is every weekend for you MICat.

And weird.  Did he smuggle it in his pocket?  Prob not possible with jeans.  Was he wearing cargo shorts?

Apples have antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties. They also contain quercetin which is an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. For highest nutritional benefits, eat fresh raw organic apples.

honeycrisp apples

Have not tried.  Really don't make any of the apple buying decisions at the dave house (don't make fun, k'guys  ) but may start taking a little more control in this aspect.

do you feel super elite when you buy honeycrisps, or just decadent and degraded, like a 3rd century roman senator?  i'm always tempted, but i feel like they're just too high-life for me.

100% hedonism.

I was thinking more like Mark Antony circa 39 BC.

Pretty funny to see that, because I use one all the time and they are awesome, however, I cut the crap out of my finger this weekend w/ one making apples for my son.  It was a bonehead move on my part (obviously) but be careful becuase they're sharp. :chainsaw:
