Sounds like it wasn't K-State or Manhattan that Mrs. Oppy objected to, but college coaching in general... :flush:

Why is this weird for him in particular?  Does Rusty play for the 5th grade girls team or something?  Would make a lot of things about Rusty make more sense...

Why is this weird for him in particular?  Does Rusty play for the 5th grade girls team or something?  Would make a lot of things about Rusty make more sense...

The guy was hired by KSU in the summer of 07, and mysteriously left before he did anything and didn't surface at any other school.  He was an elite recruiter and probably the best assistant coach we could have hired.  Pretty much any school that wasn't a blue-blood would have been happy to hire him back then, but he just quit college coaching to coach 5th grade girls.

It's weird for me in particular because I was devastated and couldn't understand why he would just walk away from coaching like that.

I remember seeing the name around the board, but wasn't able to place it.
