dude, its just user preference, different for everyone. If you have the money, get a mac(if you are ok being labeled a mac guy.) A pc is just fine and can be just as good as a mac for tons less money. I'm sure Hemmy will let you know more here shortly.

Only people who own diamond mines buy macs. Us normal doods can't afford.

Is a PC safer than a Mac?
-
Windows is a more secure operating system, but because the world wide marketshare for Macs is very low they benefit from security through obscurity.
Essentially, a lot more exploits are written for Windows than OSX. Honestly though, I haven't had a virus in probably 8 years since I was running Windows ME with no antivirus

no

It's all dependent on what you want/like to do. Macs have very easy to use software for photos/music/video but you are pretty much stuck with the one option. PCs have more power user software available but if you aren't into really sitting down and getting into it a Mac is the easier approach. Macs will cost more for the same hardware (referred to as the Apple Tax). PCs have much more readily available freeware programs too. You can't use Google Chrome on Macs yet but I think they are working on it. Like, if my grandmother wanted to start using a computer I would tell her to get a Mac because they are harder to screw up and easier to start using imo. There's no right answer for everyone.

So you are saying if you are either
1. old
2. stupid
or
3. Lazy
get a mac
got it.

It takes my brand new pc laptop (with nothing stored on it) twice as long to do EVERYTHING as my four year old MacBook Pro (bazillions of songs, vid, etc.). Plus the Mac doesn't freeze, shut off randomly and constantly bombard you with updates and "are you sure?" boxes. Kind of a bonus.

Macs aren't perfect of course, but they are worth it for a couple of reasons--first of all there is no performance gap anymore. You get what you pay for with a mac in terms of the hardware being roughly equivalent.
The big difference is in the user interface and user experience. My PC is constantly asking me questions and telling me to upgrade this and that. My mac does a software update every couple of weeks, and many of them are optional. I've never used a PC laptop that had anything remotely as good as the multi-touch trackpad.
Get a PC if you want something cheap. Get a mac if you want something you're going to use all the time.
-
lol. u can tell your pc not to upgrade if u dont want.
man, mac is so for gays who try to be snobbish and diff. pc's are cheaper, but man...they seriously do everything u want, it really is limitless. seems like the only pros for mac are ppl too retarded to actually learn the veeery basics of a computer.
are macs really that easier to use? are people having trouble double-clicking on their internet browser of choice? changing songs on itunes? wtf is the big deal w/ drag and drop for mac? no viruses? bfd, use the money u save to buy kaspersky.

I have a degree in computer engineering, so, I think I can figure out how to use a PC.

This is the dumbest post I've seen in a while.

Mac. It takes a while getting used to but by the end, it is the better buy....

Really? You care enough about which model of computer people use to be a jerk?

I always say "if you don't have a mac then you're gay"

You realize that Apple's terrible security patching speed is a bad thing right?
