He reiterated the fact that he wants to coach but has to talk it over with his mom and ESPN.
He wants to be on the same page with the AD and Prez regarding academics - he took tutors on the road, and the university provided every player a laptop.
He realizes that you can't really compete for recruits with the UCLA's or ku's of the world. (I disagree - see: Baylor)
He's recruited every part of the world but Africa.
Always recruit the best player in the state - even if they're marginal players. Said that it creates a reputation and "pipeline" within the state - makes you more likely to get the "elite" players and the "marginal" players often end up being solid players.
George Karl really wanted the UNLV job - he couldn't get an interview. Karl didn't care about the money, he wanted the lifestyle, to coach his son, and to coach in college the rest of his life.
Every area of the country has specific elements that you have to deal with - ex: Minnesota has a tremendous recruiting advantage by being the only D1 school in the state. Some players have different goals: for Andre Miller, the most important thing to him was getting his degree.

I like Majerus. I hope we at least give him a call.
-
Petro just said KSU should call Majerus.
Said he has the right mindset for a KSU coach.
-
I agree completely. Of the big name - no job coaches out there, Majerus would certainly be the best "fit". I like the Euro connections.
The biggest concern would be his and his mom's health and whether or not those would be distrations.
I think he could come in and take next year's team to the Tournament.

Meadowlark Hills, baby!
Tigerboard is hilarious. They're convinced every comment he made was about Missouri specifically.
-
Majerus to Cartier: "Ever heard of Keith Van Horn. His game was similar to yours...."
-
The funniest post over there in the last couple of days is when one guy said that MU and ku don't care about beating KSU.
-
This and our current players = hand in glove.

I forgot a very important point he made:
He thinks a new coach's "style" should match the current roster - he cited Tubby continuing to run and press at Kentucky, and said if he followed Chaney at Temple he would probably run a lot of zone even though he isn't a "zone coach".
Double bonus if our roster already fits his style.
-
if? No if.
-
Double bonus, then.

Check out my post on Wabash. Simple mathematics.

Stop posting on Wabash, dangit. I can't see that stuff.

Nice. That's what we need in a coach. KSU should have no problem providing Majerus what he wants. The issue is Majerus' health. Maybe he can hire me and I will lead him down the road to good health.

Yeah!
Your secrets are safe here, FAN.

The funny thing is Baggy can afford Wabash. Like 5 times more than I can anyway. :)

After I pay back the $50,000 I owe Uncle Sam for the last three years of education...

I've got you beat with my $70K.
I'm thinking we could make some bank organizing a class-action lawsuit against Wooldridge on behalf of all KSU fans for ruining the last 6 years of our basketball-watching lives. You in?

Hmmm, yes...but under what theory? Some sort of torts theory under Kansas law for intentional infliction of emotional distress? Or maybe an action for violation of constitutional rights...cruel and unusual punishment?
