Yeah, doing a Midnight Madness like every other big time program in the country would require planning and promotion and stuff.  We're def better off doing nothing.

BTW, props to the Manhattan Mercury for now becoming our #1 source for K-State recruiting information.

That's pathetic and wonderful all at once/

While all of this may be true, midnight madness is an incredibly lame event regardless of school.  So, it's actually much cooler not to have it.

I think he got to the Mercury after working as a writer at the Dodge City paper.  Still better credentials than Kellis, but to start as editor?  Looking forward to Manbeck's ascension to the throne.  He'd make for a much better representative in Vegas.

hate to break up this little manbeck lovefest, but rumors abound that underwoodsey is squiring three recruits around the fball game.

jeffrey would have given us names for all three, not just sat back contentedly on his southwell/asprilla laurels.

Interesting.  I don't even have any guesses as to who the other 2 are.  JUCOs?  local '11s and '12s?  Window dressing to help urge a commitment out of Southwell?

Southwell and his mom looked to be enjoying Manhattan.  Smiles ear to ear, both of them in the concessions line.  The Judge in a purple DC Nationals baseball cap.

Dalonte was prowling the concourse of BSFS like a damned mountatin cat.  Watching the man recruit simply takes your breath away.

You are right sys, it was most definitely Kelly and Henriquez that Underwood was shuttling around the game with Mr. Southwell.

On another note, all we had to do was yell Curtis' and Shane's names for Curtis to somewhat escort Shane over the the student section so that we could pass out some EMAW love high-fives.  He was a little reluctant (obviously he was unaware of how EMAW we are).

But, like previously reported, Shane's mom was def. enjoying manhattan.  Seemed to really enjoy underwoods company.  I bet having her here had nothing to do with a previous recruiting fiasco.

Henriquez was wearing a polo t-shirt...looked kind of awkward in it, but I dont know if there is a situation where he doesnt look awkward.

also, shane has soft hands...

henriquez didn't play at Rice, but they all played for the Gauchos.  That's the really important thing about southwell's recruitment - opening up a Gauchos pipeline.

gpc article is more positive.

Quote
She liked the trip. She liked it a lot. She talked with Coach (Frank) Martin and Coach (Dalonte) Hill. Coach Martin probably talked to my mom more than he did me on the visit.

Quote
I spent time with them two, Jacob Pullen and Jamar Samuels a lot. They are all cool. I had a great time with them.

Quote
Everything was good about the trip.  I enjoyed everything about it. The campus, the facilities and the town were really nice.

maybe the reason for the delay in committing?

Quote
The coaches told me they are looking at me as a combo guard but let me play some point because Pullen is more of a scoring guard.

For two years at least if not his whole career.  Matches our style very well to have a combo guard so we can slide our point to the 2 if we want different looks.  Glad they are being honest with him, hope it doesn't cost us.

from what I heard ... is that he's going to make all of his visits before he names a leader.

Their hunch says he comes to Kstate as its obvious this kid is going to work into our style of play.

Oh, and we've got his Mom on our side big time.
