(IMO, it should always be):

1) QB
2) DL
3) OL
4) Speed

obviously, it isn't that simple, but it's just my general pref.

How scary is it that we couldn't land any qbs despite our situation?

Really scary, but not surprising, sadly.

Just resign, Bill.

Does no one ever consider the recruitment of kickers?  You just never here about that "5 star kicking recruit".  There is no position on this team costing up more actual point than the kicking position right now.  Do we just have to hope good kickers fall in our lap?  I'd at least put kicker up there in the top 3 needed recruits.

Ya the whole " you can start because we will be rebuilding" pitch didn't work real well.

 Recruiting priorities ...

1. DT
2. DE
3. OT
4. OG
5. LB
6. WR
7. QB
8. CB
9. RB
10. K

Ideally, I'd look to find a big DB to convert to LB ...

We were able to get some looks from some decent guys late, but ended up losing them to Auburn, Ole Miss, Michigan, ans Utah.  Losing Graham to Marshall sucked though.  Seems like we should stand a much better chance with this class, considering we actually have time to fully recruit guys.

We already have Harper for qb.  We could use another guy lime camnew but it won't kill us if we don't get it.  Unless we lose everyone we have right now I'd say the focus should be both lines starting with DT's.

Definitely start with the lines, make qb and lb your next main focuses.

My God, it's like somebody unearthed this priority list from the year 2000.

The dude hasn't been able to land an impact player at QB for the last fracking decade.

When will we learn our lesson????

this is pretty much why i have no hope for bill snyder.  almost all of his assistants are dog sh*t recruiters and have already proven so at ksu.

anyway, any list that doesn't have QB as #1 should be mocked and ridiculed so much that the poster commits suicide, imo.  #2 would be a coin toss between OL and DL (preferably DE).  Then go out and get a bunch of athletes (preferably good ones) and then start sticking them at LB, Safety and WR in that order.

1.  QB (ideally one true passer and one duel threat)
2a. OL(Big, strong OL suited for the power running game)
2b. DL (Specifically rush ends)
3. LB's

Football is won and lost in the trenches always has been, always will be.  Ideally, I would have the OL and DL as priorities 1a and 1b as both are lacking.  Our team however has what looks to be a black hole at QB.

Side Note: We have a stable of guys at the QB position.  Hopefully Snyder & Co. can get these guys to buy in and move the guys who are athletic enough to play other positions they could provide more value.

It doesn't really matter who the QB's, RB's and recievers are if the line sucks.  Nor does it matter who the LBs and DBs are if the DL sucks.  The collective units will suck it this is the case.

Over all I dont think our DL is that bad, just incomplete.  they do a decent job in most areas, they just don't have anyone who can get real pressure on the QB.

1. Coach--Don't get me wrong OB is a Hall of Fame guy, but how is he going to get any decent recruit to commit when they know he's leaving in a few years.

2. QB

3. DL

"he's leaving in a few years" applies to nearly every coach in college football, with a couple of exceptions.

Before we left Huntington, this guy got into some trouble either at home in FL or  in WV, I cannot remember... the only thing worse than having a crapty QB - is having an awesome QB who gets stuck on the sidelines with off the field issues.

we extending his contract to 2013.  It isn't the longevity issue, its the ability issue.
