Its magnified b/c UCLA's base is stretch zone.  So the movement of the offensive line makes it real tough for the LBs and backside of the defense not to get caught up with the playaction.  On that play it was also just a well designed crossing route out of that formation; tThe safety bit completely on the run fake and ended up way up the field leaving the wide-out wide open on the crossing route.  Plus the timeing was great; the initial reciever got across first which held the deep saftey on the other side of the field.
