Did you guys hear anything about this?
Norman, OK (AP) - Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson has elected to have his broken collarbone removed so he can play the rest of the 2006 season for the Sooners, sources are reporting.
The University of Oklahoma Athletic Department has called a press conference for 1:30 p.m. today, where Peterson, OU head coach Bob Stoops, and Peterson's physicians will discuss the plan. The procedure is rare, extremely risky, and is generally performed only in life-threatening circumstances.
"We support Adrian's decision," Stoops said in a press release issued Wednesday afternoon. "It's his decision entirely, and we look forward to having him back on the field."

They are going to replace it with Jason White's knee.

Ummmmm... coming from a guy that has broken 3 collar bones (one of them twice smartasses) I'm not sure how he's planning on having a pro football career when he purposely weakens the structural integrity of his body. It would make for a sick party joke though.
