Wasps! Spiders, snakes, clowns, babies, none of that sh*t scares me but send a couple wasps my way and I basically curl up in the fetal position and cry. I'm not ashamed to admit this. Anyone else hate them too?

Meh. I've been stung by wasps/yellowjackets/hornets/whatevs many times. It hurts but you get over it. I mean, yeah, I run away and whatnot but spiders are scarier....and I've, to my knowledge, never gotten bitten by a spider. Maybe it's the unknown that's scary :dunno:

Walked by a nest when I was nine and got stung nineteen times and was first all :twobirds: but quickly went to :runaway: :crybaby: :whiteflag: :stretcher: Ever since then I've been all :ohno:.

19 times!? Yeah, I can see where your fear originates from.

Just had maintenance come and take out a nest that was on my deck. There were seven of those little a$s holes hanging out. Dude sprayed them with this stuff that freezes them so when they die they still look they're alive. Wish he would have pinned them down and burned each one with a heated penny.

Ugh, last summer some wasps made a nest inbetween the wooden boards in our fence (had one where the boards are on opposite sides, with alternating boards if you know what I mean. Basically there's like 3 inches of emptiness in the middle of the fence with plenty of room for them to fly in/out) right by the gate. Every time I opened/closed it they would get pissed off and chase me. This was the only way to get the mower from front yard to back, short of dragging it through the house or tossing it over the fence.
I went out with a can of raid and kicked the fence, then ran back and as one was flying at me, hit it with a jet of liquid wasp killer (didn't spray at all, just a thin stream) and just watched it drop (stepped on it to rub in victory).

When I was a kid I put a wasp in a jar (trapped it up against the side of the house with the jar, you know?) and then added a praying mantis to said jar. The praying mantis ate it. So, I would suggest importing praying mantis's to your neighborhood to help with the wasp problem. Praying mantis's also seem to be effective against those big red ants. I was kind of a weird little kid in retrospect.

Aren't there studies out that say most people get bitten like fifty times and swallow around eight annually while they're asleep?

Maybe, that's why I put the "to my knowledge" part. But, I doubt I do as I've never seen a spider in my house.

That's what I like to hear. I place wasp victory stories on par with stories about kicking some gangbanger's ass. Shot one (a wasp) with a bb gun once from at least twenty feet away. That was a good day.

I have nests upon nests of opaque spiders in my house too.

Pretty epic wasp kill, if true. Not much experience with a bb gun but sounds ridiculously hard to hit a wasp from more than a few feet away.

It is true. He was sitting on my parents back patio. I was twelve years old and was/am a pretty terrible shot. It was complete luck/fate.

yes. the studies you are talking about were originally conducted in fairytale land and then reduplicated in gmafbreaksville.

How about you go back to your dirty, smelly, germ infested swamp and maybe us, proud, Seminoles will you throw you a few scraps we have left over from dinner. K? K.

The stuff about spiders is false. I know because i researched the hell out of it when i found out because I'm :ohno: of spiders.

When I lived in my first apartment in KC, I had a problem with spiders. I'd wake up in the morning with a little red bump, and by the afternoon, it was the size of a silver dollar. Then, by the evening, it would be aboue the size of a small silver dollar with lines coming out of it.
Ultimately, once it came to a head, you'd just pop the head, pour hydrogen peroxide in it, and then use some form of neosporin, and a couple of days later, it was all gone.
I could never prove it was those spiders, but it never happened to me again after I moved out of there.
Ever since we moved into our new house, we've had the bug killer guys come every few months to spray. Since the bugs don't come inside, the spiders don't either because they have nothing to eat. However, they do wander all over the foundation of my house because there's all sorts of crap for them out there. So as long as they don't come inside, I don't care because I find them to be quite useful.

Yes, the laws are retarded. However, has anyone ever heard/seen/know of somebody who got a fine/ticket for riding their bike on the sidewalk ???

One time I got stung by a wasp on the tip of my nose and I didn't see it coming. It felt worse than getting punched in the face.

that would suck. I bet he was aiming for your eyeball and you flinched slightly and he rammed his pointy butt right into your nose.

Was about 20 feet up in this pear tree when I went to pluck the prize only to find there was a yellow jacket on the other side who thought it prudent to send my understanding of pain into a new dimension. The fall through limbs and ending with a whoosh of air as my lungs collapsed against the ground still haunts.
I took vengeance some years later in a barn, where I closed the doors until they were open only an inch and with one of those plastic tubes they used to have for sliding your golf club into in the bag, as they flew in I batted upwards of 1000 against the wall. The bong from the tube as they were hit was music.

hate wasps as well. &@#%ing terrifying.

They look like Satan.

Got stung by a bee a couple of summers ago for the first time in about 20 years. Was walking in the grass and one got in between my sandal and my foot. Stung me right on the ball of the foot. This was a week after I cut the same place pretty bad (almost stitches bad) on the same place on the other foot. Had a hard time hobbling on two painful feet (which fracking one am I supposed to limp on??? OOWWW!) the rest of the way to the in-laws.
Best cure for wasps or their nests: aerosol can and a match.
This one makes me :ohno: about using a grill cover.

work outside for a landscaping company and got stung 3 times by a wasp a few weeks back try to get some crap out of a shrub. sweet revenge going back the next day with 2 cans of wasp spray. that nest never knew what hit 'em. found that meat tenderizer helps in making the swelling go down pretty good.
-
Always when I'm talking about how much I hate spiders (often) some idiot in the group I'm talking to says something about how if there were no spiders then other bugs would multiply like crazy and take over the earth. Well I have a message for idiots who say this: Shut up idiots.

i also hate.... gravy, ku, tuna, snakes, anti-americans, ku, dishes in the sink, bigfoot, kites, people that are late, bud light, the dude in the p&l bathrooms wanting a tip, aliens, crapty bartenders, and marmots.

Hate fat people.
Was weed eating one time (nothing to do with fat people) and hit a bee hive/nest. Looked down and there were hundreds on my legs. I started brushing them off as they were stinging the crap out of me. Got most of them off and was backing away and one of those frackers did a kamikaze mission right at my eye and nailed me right below it. Other than hurting like frack, I thought I was ok until moms checked on me in the middle of that night and I looked like a gargoyle. My whole face was huge.
FYI, I am back to looking/smelling awesome. :dancin:

You pussies think wasps hurt? Try getting bit by a horsefly atleast 20 times this &@#%ing summer.

The same one?

Not a big fan of the horsefly either. I put them and wasps on about the same level, with wasps still being worse.

Has anyone seen the video of 7 hornets demolishing 20,000 bees? It's pretty epic.

I watched this last night. Mantis' are also some scary sh*t. Don't really come into contact with them, though, so they are nowhere near the level of flying insects with stingers.

Did you watch the ending? The hornet freaking grabbed the mantis by the head and chewed through its neck, letting its body plummet to the ground. Thorough domination :ohno:

It's not fair. The Mantis got double teamed. Poor guy.

I saw a video of a giant centepede eating a rat or something on youtube. I didn't think it would freak me out as much as it did. Really gross disturbing stuff. I won't even look for it again. Look for it yourself or wait till Phreak backs me up again.

Kinda boring, the mouse doesn't put up any fight at all. 90% of the video is the centipede slowly eating the mouse (not like a snake, just kinda chewing away at it).
