Went and saw him in concert. He is such a cool guy. I agree I don't think he has ever had a bad song, but when I went and saw him in concert he did not even do All My Exes Live in Texas
Still bugs me he doesn't write any hardly any of his songs. Oh well...minor detail.
I had kind of forgot about him because he rarely comes out with new albums.

this is a major detail for me. he doesn't write his songs. don't think he plays an instrument. might as well dress a robot computer up in black clothes and program them to talk/sing country songs. i mean seriously, what separates this guy from billy bob who did lead vocals in the band "rock a fire explosion" that used to play regularly at showbiz pizza back in the 80's? nothing. nothing is what.

He prally has the best ear for songs than anyone in the business, damn good singer, and does play the guitar btw. Its like a rule in country music.

A Strait top ten without The Chair? Borderline blasphemy, IMO.

This Cowboy's Hat might be the most unheralded country song ever. Shades of Cash in there. Would've like to have heard what he could have done with that song.

Aggieville CD Store( I cant remember wtf that store is called ??)sold me 5 George Strait CD's for $27!!
George is my all time favorite country singer. Saw him in concert at the Kansas Coliseum in Wichita back in August of 1987. Holly Dunn (Daddy's Hands) opened for him then, and I got to meet her in person at the Shepler's store down on Kellogg a couple of hours before the concert. My dad and I were in there shopping, and she happened to be there doing some kind of promotion. So I got to have her sign my special Dr. Seuss autograph book. Will never forget that.
Concert was awesome. Got a free KFDI t-shirt in the parking lot when we got there. It says "When News Happens, It Happens On KFDI". Still have it and wear it sometimes by the way.

WTF? I don't even know what questions to ask about that.

I used to work with his sister in law...
OT: In sticking with the country theme, How bout Brooks and Dunn splitting up. Wow! My fav duo ever. :'(
No offense to George, but Pure Country was proof positive that he should never be in another movie again. ("Go on, get yer ass outta here.") Great soundtrack, though.
The good thing about his concerts is that he sounds as good as the album. The bad thing about his concerts is that they sound just like his album. I like some variety in the presentation so I know I'm hearing it live. (Which, come to think of it, is kinda funny when you think about the Pure Country plot.)

I'm going to have to see them before they go out.
The are having a farewell tour in 2010.

brooks hasn't done sh*t for 15 years. I wonder if he gets paid the same as Dunn? :dunno:

Supposedly they share the album royalties equally. I guess that makes sense since most of their money is earned through touring and endorsements. Brooks is basically there for the live shows now. Can't confirm read an article somewhere talking about how he doesn't do much of the studio recordings anymore.
