For the making of your American Football Special, I have the following facts that should not be omitted from any discussion of the Bill Snyder Family American Football Stadium.
1. Gold leafing around the windows of the luxury boxes on the East side of the stadium. Designed to reflect light during twilight games and create the illusion of heaven for the Wildcat team members (who stand along the West sideline and look toward the East).
2. At the North end of the stadium, beneath the newly constructed seating, lies the tomb of Henley H. Haymaker. Mr. Haymaker donated the land and funds for Haymaker Hall (a historic public dormitory) and is regarded as a latter day saint by a number of the universities secret societies.
3. The southeast corner of the stadium is what is known as the “Scarlet Valley.” This area typically seats a congregation of “born again virgins” who have taken a holy vow of chastity after contracting venereal diseases. While not in attendance for every game (their religious calendar is not always in alignment with home contests), when they do attend they all wear red colored garments.

4. The once supple pasture parking lot, known affectionately by all true Kstaters as the "Sheep Lot" has been eradicated for a beautiful new building but lives on in our hearts. At the end of the 3rd Quarter, each KSU man grabs the nearest KSU gal and gives her a lusty "BAAAAAA!" to commemorate the lot named after the state animal.

I think they dug her up when the re-did the sheep lot.
galaxtico- don't use any old photos from before we got the new big screen and ESPECIALLY before we got the upper decks.

galaxtico- there is a club level area for congregating which is enclosed behind glass on the east side but the seating in this area is open air.
steve- i was so drunk that night that i honestly didn't even remember burying her there until just now. i would agree about her probably having been dug up by now.

glaxtico- The basketball arena is directly to the South of the stadium. There is a very narrow walkway between the Stadium and the Arena. The basketball arena is called the Octagon of Doom ( ;) )
rick- You were wasted. Even when it was pretty obvious that she was dead you just kept hitting her with that big chili pot. But Pete and I couldn't even quit laughing long enough to slow you down.
-
Glaxtico,
Please also be certain to include that we are a Land Grant University. The university was originally the site of a Pottawatomie Indian burial ground. However, the land was gifted to the University by Major General Bennett C. Riley after he killed the last surviving Pottawatomie warrior, some 300 yards due south of where the Bill Snyder Family Stadium sits today. This geographic point is known as the Octagon of Doom, in reference to the shape the surrounding American soldiers made around that last warrior....before they executed him and removed his head.
Later, a wealthy donor named Fred Bramlage provided the funding to build a basketball arena at this location. Ever mindful of the ominous past of this particular spot, the architects produced a rendering that bears witness to those historic events...in the shape of an octagon. To this day, we still call it the "Octagon of Doom," and it and it’s terror-inspiring presence is clearly visible from the Bill Snyder Family Stadium playing surface immediately to the North.
Legend has it, that on cold evening practices in November, after all the Bill Snyder Family Stadium lights have been turned out, you can still hear the whispers of the ghost of that last Pottawatomie warrior crying out in vain. Some say it’s just the wind, others know better.
-
When they poured the concrete for the "bowl" of Bill Snyder Family Stadium several Chinese slave laborers got caught in the cement and were ultimately buried alive . . . 1 in Section 12 row 14, the other in section 18 row 29.
It's true.
-
Please call it "Bill Snyder Family Stadium". Drop the word "football" in the title. Gracias.

Actually, "too small" is probably an accurate representation....except, even then it is never filled.

Galaxtico-
When you are ready to do bad high school stadiums with tracks around them and cheap "luxury" boxes on aluminum bleachers. Go over to phog.

Be sure to add this shot of the gently rolling hills of Waving Kansas grassland, accentuated by the lovely KSU cheerleaders. J/K chill out. :hahano:

pete- can you bring some more of that chili to the first game. it was really good iirc. please bring it in the extra large, really heavy duty cast iron chili pot that you own if you catch my drift. :fatty:

Once the retractable dome is finished following next season, the place will be better than any can dream of!

I like that you have endzone seats; however, your seats don't go very high on the pressbox side.

That is where the "future expansion" would be. Extend the press box and seats on that side.

"Future Expansion" as in "not going to happen" ??

Now that Haverhill's team is bowling, he's gotten all snide. :frown:

Not in our lifetime. We're pretty well maxed out even when we had great seasons. Just too hard to draw that many from a distance.
