I actually expect KSU to be invited to the Alamo regardless of win/loss record.  It's pretty scary smart....if all of EMAW is in San Antonio, then San Antonio can go to Manhattan and steal the NBAF.

somebody go ahead and sticky this so we can all be aware of the danger.

Raises the question:  Would you trade NBAF for a 2009 Alamo Bowl victory?

No.  I would meltdown much worse if we lost NBAF than if we lost the Alamo Bowl.

Should have been more specific.  Lose NBAF and Win Alamo v. NBAF and No Bowl.

Really want NBAF.  Also really want to be good at football.  Going to have to do some research and think about this for a while.

How much potential for Manhattan to grow cuz of NBAF? I mean, not just immediate growth from employers, but the extra money will bring extra business which will bring extra employers, etc. What total population expansion can be attributed to this in say 10-15 years?

We all know what NBAF would bring: National recognition for the Manhattan as well as KSU, up to 500 federal jobs, billions of $ to the economy, probable upgrades to MHK airport and more populated more connected city.  This would no doubt help recruiting for all sports in the future.  Perhaps we would shed the "hardest school to recruit to ever" label.

On the other hand, 5 of the last 6 winners of the Alamo bowl had 9+ wins and three teams had 10 wins.  Also 4 of the 6 finished ranked in the top 25.  If Snyder won 9 games with this group of suck face losers then I would imagine we would likely be on the verge of DoD vol. 2.

Will make a final decision tomorrow.  I'm leaning Alamo, but I'm not ready to give up on NBAF.  It means an awful lot to me.

As a homeowner in Manhattan, I'd love to see NBAF here.  Bought my place for $115K in 2002; currently worth about $170K; would expect to see NBAF push it over $200K just in time for me to sell.  The Alamo Bowl can suck it.  The 1998 game in San Antonio was probably my all time worst road trip ever.  It sucked in many ways besides the bowl game as well.  No need to elaborate further.
