...and so far we haven't heard ANY new recruits linked to KSU, other than the tropics kid.
Why?
Are Frank and co. just sucking at recruiting (more than usual)?
Is Meek resting on his laurels now that J-Mart is gone?
:dunno:
any ideas appreciated, thx.

I think we're just waiting on Mitchell to give other schools a "looksy." Then crawl back to us...
Also, waiting on Aspirilla to get the ok to GTFO of Florida.
Then if one of the two doesn't happen, Welcome Frank Williams!! :billypopcorn:

you mean 2009s? i'd assume that asprilla and peterson are it if they can make it. maybe there's some murderesque 1 year backup plan, but i'm sure nothing of impact.
or do you mean 2010s? you might expect a few more options given that peterson, mitchell and to a lesser extent asprilla are all question marks, but it seems the staff is fairly comfortable with the idea of just looking for maybe one more guy (a 2-3). as you suggest, perhaps that has changed recently and just hasn't been reflected in the media due to the lack of decent coverage.
personally, i'm not too unhappy with the idea of concentrating on 2011s from here out. would just like to hear more positive 2011 news. wouldn't really expect any of the remaining media scrubs to cover 2011s though.

how many schollies open up for 2010 class?
Clemente
Colon
Merriweather
dPete's scholly
if dPete is a qually this year then 3 are available? otherwise we have 4 available. that's quite a bit to fill (30.8%). if only 3 then that's still 23%. also must consider any freshman leaving after one year. so I would hope that we do get some quality in 2010. sounds like losing Mitchell is going to be costly.

my sources say the 10-11 roster (scholarship) is:
Pullen
Russell
Spradling
Peterson
Irving
McGruder
Sutton
Samuels
Kelly
Judge
Asprilla
Henriquez
Mitchell or Williams
FWIW, my sources are almost always wrong. :dunno:

Judge isn't one and done. He has too many areas of his game that need work. plus i don't thing his family is in dire need of the money.

If we get both Dpete and Asprilla, then I'd much rather get mitchell over williams, since Pullen, Russell Spradling, Dpete, Irving and Mcgruder can all play the 2 and we'll have more of a need for a 3-4.

Merr is not on athletic scholarship from what I understand for the upcoming; back to academic 'ship. Currently we have 11 on scholarship, but look to be full if D-Pete and Asprilla work out there issues. So for next year's class, in theory we have 2 to give and 1 filled, (maybe 2, pending whatever happens with Mitchell).

so, like, if Mitchell ends up being an EMAW, we're really going to take Spradling over Frank Williams?

can't pull an offer like that. esp. for a guy on the same team.
and what in the hell makes you think Mitchell ends up EMAW?

I did preface by saying "if". The only hope I have for Spradling is that the staff offerred Mitchell before everyone else and apparently he's talented, so maybe Sprads will be okay. If Williams ends up getting offers from high majors and Sprads is sitting there with us and UNLV, then the Sprads offer is very Ron Prince-ish (e.g. get in early on a kid who no one wants).

Still...what does he have to lose? Who cares if Jimmy Spearville blows up and Texas Tech swoops in at the last minute and steals him away?
