Dunno if it's technically on wannamaker, but i always liked steak 'n shake. Didn't there used to be a winnstead's (sp?) there, too? I've been away from 'peka for a long time.

Wanamaker is awful but here are my choices:

1. Old Chicago. Solid pizza, excellent beer selection. My name is on the Hall of Foam...3 times.
2. Buffalo Wild Wings
3. Jason's Deli

All 3 are located in the same area, too.

Notable contenders:

HuHot, Planet Sub, Jersey Mikes, Hy-Vee salad bar.

Yes, the Mall is part of the Wanamaker corridor.  Chik Fil A is ran by anti semites.

I used to eat there occasionally with my parents when I was a wee boy. I liked it, but all I remember was a dessert that was some sort of chocolate cake/brownie with ice cream and had chocolate syrup and caramel drizzled all over the plate in a nice weaving design.   :lick:

no love for the olive garden or hooters?  i guess hooters might not technically be on wanamaker but its close.  also pizza hut, papa johns, arby's via huntoon, mcdonalds, hardees, taco bell, burger king, ihop, its pretty much a homerun for topeka dining establishments...

actually the best place to eat in topeka is the prize package...

Timberline and Texas Roadhouse aren't awful.  Longhorn is meh.  My wife and I had our first date at the Red Lobster by the mall, so I gotta say it's 'okay', or I look like an idiot for taking her there.

ya man, when I think "I want BBQ" the first thing I think of is pork from a Minnesotan chain BBQ restaurant that consistently sucks. Guess next time I should "try the pork", that will reverse my opinion for sure.

If you want real BBQ in Topeka, do yourself a favor and go to Boss Hawg's.  Best KS BBQ outside of KC.

We ate at Boss Hawg's a lot when I lived in Topeka. We moved to Lansing and ate at the Famous Dave's at Legends several times and it was amazing every time. Nothing really great locally so we just had Famous Dave's when we wanted good BBQ.

Which makes it about #276 overall in in the KS/MO area.
