suck it Grenada. next up Honduras. it's like the 80s all over when Reagan was taking commies down left and right in Central America
:AA:
-
Hopefully the USA could win this cup (won the last time too) and gain some momentum going into world cup qualifying and the world cup.
The Gold Cup also give the B squad players a chance to showcase their skills against the lesser countries ala Greneda.
-
Costa Rica 1 Jamaica 0 :curse:
-
USA 2 Honduras 0.
USA qualifies for quarter finals!!!!!!!!!!!!
:yikes:
-
next victim: Haiti
Saturday 19:00ET
Bob "the Brain" Bradley will probably be using an experimental lineup - a U.S. "c-team" if you will. hopefull no U.S. player will get bitten and zombify :scared:

I watched the last 30 minutes of the Honduras game on FSC. Our two goals were pretty tight, especially the first one.

lol @ Mexico. tying Panama
sucks to be a Mexican supporter. it would be awesome if they failed to qualify for the World Cup.
-
Holy shat! Did anybody else see that goal that tied the game in extra time? That was fracking amazing.

great goal by Holden to salvage a weak effort by USA c&d teamers

good semi final matchups for Thursday. Costa Rica v Mexico and USA v Honduras
i like Costa Rica to win it all
a couple US players from the Gold Cup you may see in the World Cup next year (that weren't at the Confederation Cup)
Beckerman - with all the red cards the idiots get in the defensive midfield for the US it might be wise to bring extras at this position.
Holden - could be huge in the midfield if needing an offensive spark
Ching - definitely going to be in. only reason he's on this experimental team is cuz he was injured before the Confederation Cup and needed to get some time w the national team.
Pearce - has some time with the "first team" group but has struggled at left back. in this competition, however, he has pretty much had his way up and down the left flank. with no depth at LB expect to see him in S Africa next year.
Cherundolo (already left to go back to his German club) - same as Ching. has been injured and needed to get some time w the national team. will def be is S Africa next summer

CLARENCE GOODSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1-0 USA with 20 to go.
COYRWB's (come on you red white and blues)
-
USA 2 - Honduras 0 ; Mexico 1 - Costa Rica 1 , Mexico wins 5-4 on penalties.
sets up another Gold cup final between the two biggest rivals in the CONCACAF region. the final is set for 1500ET Sunday.
USA scored off a corner in the 20th minute and most of the chances throughout the game. Honduras created a great chance which would have tied the game in about the 84th minute. but a great save by Perkins, the US keeper, kept his team in front. the US put the game away in the 89th minute with great combination play from Ching, Holden and Conner making it 2-0
Mexico scored in the 83rd minute from a scramble in front of the goal then 3 minutes into stoppage time Costa Rica evened it up on a great strike after a long ball found the runner beating 2 Mexican central defenders. extra time produced no goals sending the game to penalty kicks. the Mexican keeper saved the 2nd or 3rd attempt by Costa Rica which proved to be the game winner as Mexico remained perfect from the spot.
when the "Ticos" evened it up at the end Mexican fans were plenty :angryMJ: showering the Costa Rican players and coaches with $8 Miller Lites

:blindfold:
Mexico's A & B team against our C team.
Good first half. Dismal second.
-
We got destroyed. We would have won if we had our A team imo. I think all of the Mexicans in the NYC area were at the game. 90-95% of the fans at the game were Mexican.

turned it off after 3-0. US totally fell apart after giving up a light penalty at about the 60th minute mark giving mejico a 1-0 lead. US was forced to attack with their fullbacks and got demolished ... totally embarassed on the counter attack. mejico missed 2 or 3 chances to make 2-0 immediately after the first goal. then about 5 minutes later they got their 2nd to make it 2-0 and the rout was on.
we lost all organization and focus after that first goal - panicking way too early.
only 3 or 4 of these guys from the US team will be on the roster next summer for the World Cup. i'm thinking about half the players from 'el Tri' will be making the trip to S Africa next summer.
sucks also because the US hadn't lost a match at "home" for 58 strait matches and hadn't lost to the Mejico for like 10 years (@ home). hopefully the US 'A Team' can break a huge losing streak in Mexico City on Aug 12 in a much more meaningful game.
anyway  to all our illegals here in the US and their brethren south of the border.
