Was just thinking about this today. Dennis was a big EMAW fan during the D.O.D., I wondered if anyone knew of him?
I've heard stories like he was at a couple of people's tailgates & he sat in the upper deck. Anymore?

Good friend of mine has family out around Wakeeny. Rader (sp) is a somewhat distant relative. My buddy met him a few times and shook his hand a couple times. :peek:
-
I think he goes by Arrestacat on TOS.
-
he had a parking spot next to my buddies on the east side...they said he was a pretty nice dude...kinda shy, loner type they said..

I took that intersession class about serial killers and on one of the last days the 2 detectives that caught him showed us the 30 year process to finally get him. It was the sickest 4 1/2 hour lecture i've ever witnessed. I felt like I was watching the history channel

His sister n law lives behind my parents, she was my second grade teacher.

I'm friends with the Detectives that caught him.
-
Only took 30 years to catch him, too.
Used to ride my bike by his neighborhood. Good thing I wasn't in his target demographic.

How does it feel to be that close to police work?
-
I think "caught him" is more than a stretch, the dude had to out himself to get caught, they were 30 years into clueless, pun intended.

BTK: "Hey police, is it cool with y'all if I send in a floppy disk?"
Police: "(pfffft, whatta dipcrap), um yeah sure."
BTK: "Okie dokie"
BTK: (arrested).
Police:  "We're geniuses" :BigToke:

Was in that class, best class ever!

He kinda looks like somebody I know. I spit my O.J. out when they had the press conference to say that he was arrested and showed his picture for the first time. I quickly realized I didn't know him though.

Try 24 hours of it, with all of the crime scene photos (and I do mean all)

You were in the class this past January?

I know his brother, he is a plumber and has worked on some of the same jobs as me. Pretty good guy. I actually worked with him about six months after the arrest.
-
My wife grew up next door to the Ottero House and her mom and her then lived three doors down from BTK in Park City. He used to come around and measure their grass and stalk around their backyard.
-
i know a guy that took his daughter to prom
also, i went heights which is across the street from the church he was involved in. we'd go over there every once and a while for lunch and a friend of mine who knew people at the church said he was always there hanging out when we were there, so i guess i would have seen him, but since it was before he got caught, i had no way of knowing it was him or remembering him either.

When you have kids tell them that same story but much more deadly.

Damn man, someone in your fam was most def on his list! :ohno:

My step-mom is related to the gal that BTK married. She was in their wedding back in the 70's. Right after all this stuff broke my dad and I were saying how her affiliation could become one of those lame Lifetime movies with a catchy title like "I was BTK's Flower Girl" or something.
I also went to that church with my parents quite a few times when I would go visit them on the weekends. It's possible I even shook his hand after one of the services....And lived to tell about it! :ohno:
Her dad is also one of the leaders of the church that BTK was in, he had to help out with the police investigation. He even told her a day or 2 before the arrest what was happening. When she told my dad and I about this we were all  but quickly started to make jokes about it. We refer to him as Uncle B now.
