Title: CHICKEN WINGS
Post by: Rick Daris on June 18, 2009, 02:19:50 PM
you guys like the wings or the dings? i like the ones that have the two little bones in them w/ the meat between them and around. not the ones with the single bone that gets all big w/ meat on the end. this works out well cause everybody that i would eat wings w/ likes the kind i don't and that leaves me eating only the ones that i like. fantastic!

also how many wings could you eat? i could eat about 17. also, what are your thoughts on chicken strips/fingers with wing sauce. you like 'em better than wings? i don't. don't like them better at all. unless the wings are really bad wings and the strips/fingers with wing sauce are really good strips/fingers with wing sauce. then idk. maybe a tossup or maybe even have to go w/ the strips/fingers with wing sauce.

Bones gross me out.  Like strips/fingers/nuggetts in wing sauce much better.  Like wings with bones much less better.

Boneless wings are such a sham. They aren't wings, they are just breaded pieces of processed chicken. GTFO with boneless wings.

I do like the two bone wing better, too.  The other one is popular cause it looks like a "drumstick".

Love boneless. Buffalo sauce on the side.

Saul, GTFO.

I like putting the entire 2 bone thing in my mouth and sliding the teeth across the 2 bones, that gets the majority of the meat.  Then breaking the two bones apart to get the rest. Sometimes you don't have to break the bones...gotta have skills for that.

You guys just fail at wing eating.  You can eat wings w/o getting sauce all over.  Just have to be precise.

celery w/ ranch on it but no ranch or blue cheese on the wings. seems unnecessary.

also, i take/eat the meat off of one side of the two bone thing and then pull the bones apart and get the ther half and stuff in the middle together. you put the whole thing in your mouth? lmao, maybe i should eat wings w/ saul sometime.  :nerd:

2-bones are better, but I bet a turkey leg spun in hot sauce might not be bad.

BWW Hot or Wild is the way to go (if you have to go BWW).  Blazin' just plain tastes bad.

Keep ranch out of my &@#%ing face (I hate that crap).

Two-bones are the best but it isn't by a huge amount.

Boneless suck. It's not natural. I've never seen a chicken that had tenders, strips or nuggets on it. I don't buy it.

Blue cheese is above and beyond the best sauce. I eat the wing, then dip the bone in the blue cheese and lick it off. Dipping before eating the wing just complicates things and ruins the wing sauce flavor.

BWW wings are overpriced garbage. Best wings in town are Tiger Wings at Hibatchi Hut. Various bars probably have better wings than BWW as well. 12 wings for eight bucks? GMAFB

Most I've eaten in one sitting was something like fifty. Regretted it almost instantly afterward.

allo mates, allow myself to introject some wingage knowledge science on your craniums.

a) i like wings fried a little crispy.  don't like seeing hair/feather leftover on wing.

b) drummie vs two-boner.  guys, it's like saying what's worse, frank martin or ayome may.  srsly?  LMAO both are great.  ok, desert island scenario i'd probably pick the two-boner

c) wings - the smaller the better

d) hard not to make it too hot although BWW Blazin is too hot.  did i just contradict myself?  LMAO.

e) wings cooking method - i like wing to be fried crispy skin, dipped in wing sauce, then open flame grilled

f) wing dipping method - prefer to have a side of ranch and a side of terriyaki, combo the dip - one dip into each, then enjoy.

g) most wings i have eaten at once is 50.  my friend bet me beer and the cost of the wings that i couldn't do it.  I DID IT, prolly should be like duh but hey whatevs ya hear me screamin, demon? LMAO.

braus, i'd like my wings nickname to be "pisscrispy"
great thread brau.

THIS... Only I pinch real hard at the base to separate the two bones which allows me to suck all the meat off in one motion.  Very fast.  Love the 2 bone pieces.  Regularly eat 20 but could do 30... possibly 40.

I like the drumsticks, simpler to eat. Although dipping them can be frustrating if you have a small cup, since it has such a large piece of meat on the end. I don't like feeling like I'm taking a ton of sauce when I dip.

Blue cheese > ranch

But only for wings. I want ranch for salad. I like to have a cup of each though, for dipping the celery. Celery is good for mixing things up when you're midway through your wings. I don't have much experience with BWW (or any), but Hooter's is decent. Samurai wings at Hooter's aren't bad. I like Tanner's and 54th Street for wings in KC, though it's been years since I've eaten at either.

I've had the boneless wings at Applebee's...they're not bad, but have nothing on the real wings.

2 bones.  have yet to find a good wing place in North KC.  agreement with pissclams, like mine a little crispy (not a sauce nazi, so whatever's cool), blue cheeze or ranch (i bring my own dipping sauce when i go to BDUBS since they charge 60 &@#%ing cents for each thing even when you order wings  :curse:).

I'm with Daris on this one.

About 16 wings, buffalo style (degree varies depending on mood, but usually the hotter the better.)  Two bone have much better tasting meat, not as much nasty fat/whatever.  Agree with saul that boneless are a sham, they're basically just tiny chicken strips.  Chicken strips and buffalo sauce are not even close to the taste of regular wings.  It's all crunchy and soft, whereas regular wings have better texture and better tasting meat.  (The kind that sticks together, not the fluffy reprocessed kind.)

I eat mine with ranch.  It's nice because I get a "Ooooh that's cool," taste followed by a "Whooooa that's hot" taste.  I do have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with ranch though.

Overall, great thread.  Wings are one of my favorite 'let's go watch the game' meals.  Also go good in a 'let's go out to the bar' situation too.

that's cool man. i've know plenty of people in my lifetime that like boneless chicken nugget type things. most of them were in grade school and stuff but whatev, i don't judge.

my opinions on why wings are better.

1) crispy/fried outside!

fingers/strips/nuggets/etc do not have this. they are so lame that have have to be breaded. such an inferior cut of meat that stuff has to be added to them prior to the fry process. lmao. i like chicken and hotsauce. not flour. "hey bartender...give me some flour chicken. tia." lmao.

2) healthy sauce to chicken ratio!

i got a strip basket today from a place that i've never been to before. anyway...i got it because it came w/ fries and bread. i get it to go and when i get it back and open it up, it's basically five chicken breasts w/ a little bit of hot sauce slapped on the outside. suckfest 09. wings provide a good sauce to chicken ratio that most strips/nuggets/whatever simply can not.
