Title: NFL Talent
Post by: Waggs on June 05, 2009, 08:17:43 PM
A hallmark of Bill Snyder's best teams was that they produced NFL-caliber talent.  Admittedly, this year's team is not stacked with NFL talent, but here is a list of guys who may end up being drafted or free agents in the NFL.  My hhope is that some of our young offensive linemen can develop to the point that they belong on this list in the future.  The biggest shortcoming under Snyder (the last 2 years) and Prince has been the lack of solid play along the offensive line.

WR Brandon Banks, Sr.--He may get a shot as a free agent kick returner due to his speed.
WR Lamark Brown, Jr.--Thus far it's a stretch to have him on this list, but maybe he'll live up to his alleged potential under Snyder.
DE/DT Jeffrey Fitzgerald, Sr.--He could be a perfect 3-4 DE in the NFL.
DE Brandon Harold, So.--Probably has the best NFL potential of anyone on this list.
CB Joshua Moore, Jr.--I'm hoping he can turn into a lockdown Big 12 corner with some better coaching.

The current OL starters are too small to make it in the NFL.  You just don't see sub 300 pounders anymore, and all five of the probable starters are in that category.  If players aren't 300 pounds by their third year, they  probably just can't carry the weight.
Come to think of it, it's also a pretty small OL for the college game these days as well.
