Huggins said senior standout Cartier Martin remains suspended but added he hoped athletic director Tim Weiser would lift the suspension on Friday so the standout senior could participate in the "Madness" festivities.
"Cartier's been great," Huggins said.
Martin, the Wildcats' leading returning scorer, was suspended in late May for unspecified conduct violations. The 6-foot-7 swingman earned second-team All-Big 12 honors last season after averaging 18.0 points and 6.6 rebounds.
Junior guard-forward David Hoskins has bulked up since last season, improving his vertical leap by three inches and hiking his bench press to 325 pounds.
"I think Dave's stepped up probably above everyone else," Huggins said. "His effort's been very good, but he's also been very vocal. I think he's kind of the guy that most of those guys look to -- one, because he's played pretty well, but, secondly, because he's worked so hard."
