Will is fairly impressive. Good iq and length. Also his mom is hot.

things about WS that impressed me in the one game of MOKAN i've seen (vs. D1 Ambassadors)

gets in good position to get the ball after a rebound
gets rid of the ball quickly to the open man
plays good help D (individual D is meh, quicker players were blowing by him, #45 especially)
does box out really well for his size and on EVERY shot
good hustle and communication

his shot was not falling this morning, tho he did hit a big 3 in overtime to help clinch the win.
he can get penetration into the lane, but often chooses not to

looking forward to the traynham v. spradling matchup this afternoon.

I tried but failed epicly.  His voice was pretty high pitched.
He did pretty well in a game against probably the toughest competition they will see.  He got set pretty quickly and was in good defensive position to contest shots which kept him out of foul trouble when his guy did get by him.

Understand Self kept getting lost at his kid's game and bumping Ellis's dad.

Hey coach . . . for the 8th time, you're kid is playing on that court over there.

no players really there.

Spradling didn't play alot against DC Assault and they ended up rolling on them because of their huge bench vs. Dc's 7 players that included no names.

That sucks.  Did the blue chips from Team Texas not show up?

Physically or on the court?

Watched Cameron Clark and his team was getting worked by the Colorado cats.

Same thing with MoKan vs. DC Assault.  MoKan and Colorado had deep benches, were calling sets, were killing themselves to get out on the break, rebound and play D and Texas Elite could give a sh1t.

Not sure if Ellis and Taylor were there, pretty sure they weren't.

if you were at the classic today and didn't watch the All-Iowa Attack v. Team Texas Elite game, you missed out.  The Phil Pressey - Donivine Stewart matchup was prolly the best one today.

What do you mean? Spradling can shoot way better than Reed. He just had a bad game shooting, but still hit the game winning three. Normally, he can hit shots like crazy. Spradling is a better shooter than Reed and will have a better college career than Reed imo.

treysolid's "never-wrong, absolutely-indisputable, i-am-god-and-you-will-shut-your-whore-mouth-when-men-are-talking" analysis and observations from day 3 of MHKC.

frank williams is the most dangerous player on MOKAN.  shot is always on.  i mean, i really don't think i saw a MOKAN game where he hit less than 4 treys.  fantastic at getting into open space for the pass.  plays pretty salty defense.  just very skinny - a season in a college program with a good S&C coach will do wonders for this kid.  would absolutely love to see him in some purple and silver nike ELITEs, but i don't think frank & 'te are going to think he's worthy of a scholly and he's definitely going to be getting schollies from the mid-majors after his summer so far.

spradling's shot was falling with more consistency today.  he averaged about 2 treys a game today.  he also was getting better penetration today and once he got into the lane, one of the forwards was getting a bucket.  i was really looking at his individual defense a bit more today, and i gotta say that i think it's a bit better than i let on previously.  yeah, quicker guards will still get by him, but they don't drive it on him very often.  he's pretty smart in that he gets into his defensive stance at a distance where its just the right amount of space to discourage his man from taking the shot AND driving.  also knows which direction his man likes drive and shades appropriately.

fitz was just all over the place today.  &@#%ing embarrasing.  can't the guy be banned from campus?

while never having understood all of the Underwood hate, I feel that if we ever do fire him we should replace him with Jake Sullivan, the head coach of All-Iowa Attack.  dude knows his crap.  he game-planned the 17U championship game perfectly, his team just didn't execute.  for instance, AIA starts out in a 2-3 zone, which must be their staple since they ran it alot in the game i saw vs. team texas elite yesterday.  genius defense for an AAU squad really when you think about it because how many AAU teams have good enough shooting to take advantage of the 2-3?  anyway, after frank williams hits his first 4 or so three pointers and MOKAN is up by 10, Sully decides to switch over to a triangle and 2.  now you can tell that this is a defense AIA has never run before because he's teaching it to them in the TO.  and, it turns out it was a really smart decision.  he has donivine stewart and trevor hook act as the 2 rovers and just has them glue their asses to spradling and williams while the other 3 guys play the zone.  AIA stays in this and battles back to tie the game at 38 apiece at halftime.  things started slipping for them in the 2nd half, but you really just gotta credit MOKAN with that.  superior organization.  at one point, sully looked at his asst coach and said "i wish we could practice more often so we could run plays like they do."  i mean, MOKAN has 5 set inbounds plays, they run a motion offense and their full-court press is better most college teams.  if i was an opposing coach, i'd just be like "&@#% me".

anything you want to know?  can't give info about games i didn't attend.

i would have to think that underwood is keeping tabs on alot of the MOKAN players.  in terms of players we could have real interest in, nino's gotta be further down on the list than frank is.

Just remembered:

Overheard some dudes talking about the money getting cut back in the AAU game.  Guy was bitching to another about the Nike packages full of shoes and jerseys and what not getting shipped out every month.  Said he hasn't got a shipment in almost a year.  Said he figured in this economy that Nike was re-fixing their business plan.  Said he also got cut in doing the camp circuit because of declining numbers.  Both guys agreed it was tough out there.

Not sure if they were coaches handlers or whatever, but I just thought I'd let everybody know that some thugs need hugs and if we can scrape together some money we might be able to make some things happen.

'Te you listening?

frank williams is the most dangerous player on MOKAN.  shot is always on.  i mean, i really don't think i saw a MOKAN game where he hit less than 4 treys.  fantastic at getting into open space for the pass.  plays pretty salty defense.  just very skinny - a season in a college program with a good S&C coach will do wonders for this kid.  would absolutely love to see him in some purple and silver nike ELITEs, but i don't think frank & 'te are going to think he's worthy of a scholly and he's definitely going to be getting schollies from the mid-majors after his summer so far.

How tall?  Is he a Josh Carter type of player?

listed as 6'5", so he needs to be able to do more than just shoot.  would make a great walkon, but is probably too good to be willing to do that.  also a missouri resident i believe, which makes it harder.

Sounds like he has a lot of EMAW from the first couple of sentences of the Robert Cassidy article on gopo (a full recap would be great if anyone can read it). He just lives in raytown, is there any way he could transfer high schools, graduate from a kansas one and then he'd get in state tuition

He's coming to the elite camp.  He really wants a KSU offer.  'bout it.

i feel i should be a little bit more specific about frank's shot:  he doesn't need alot of daylight because he has a very quick release.  feet certainly don't need to be set either.  about 1/3 of his made 3's at the classic were off of curls where he came up right to the top of the key, caught it and shot it immediately.
