Title: Gray hair...
Post by: The1BigWillie on May 29, 2009, 10:47:26 AM
I'm going to be 34 in a few weeks.  I'm getting very gray.  The "Clooney" jokes aren't funny and I'm starting to look like a Pauly Walnuts hybrid.

I keep my do really short on the sides, usually buzzed down with a "1" extension and then a "7" on the top.

Anyway, I like to keep my women in the 24 to 28 range and this gray can't be helping.  Does anyone here use anything or have any suggestions?  I don't want to be the guy who leaves work on Friday with salt and pepper and white walls and comes back on Monday looking like Wayne Newton.

Or just go bald

Going bald isn't an option.  I don't want something that takes it from where I am to full dark again.  I need a "tweener".

You could always start with some of this,

Let people get used to it for a while, the go with full-on Just for Men.  Then if people ask if you used to be gray, look at them like they're all crazy or something.

With the touch of gray thingy - hit the biggest problem area (assuming you have one) to get it down to the level of the rest of your head. Then, after a few weeks go get a hair cut. Follow the cut with the touch o' touch all over the place and then go get some a$$.

The greatest gift god gave to man was women's love for older men. Quit whining and sport it w/ confidence. All kinds of daddy issues you can take advantage of.

I'm 28, and I got my first small gray patch about a year ago.  My wife, 26, thinks it's cool.  She wants me to get more gray because she thinks it's hot.

Honestly, I don't know how I feel about that, it's kind of weird, but it's proof that there are girls in your desired age range that dig it.

QFT

Maybe I'll just stick with it.  The sun seems to make it worse though.  I'll poll some of the thirsty bitches down at the river this weekend and see what's up.

I think he means a number 1 guard and a number 7 guard.  I believe a number 1 guard is 1/8" and a number seven is 7/8".

No, no... a #1 extension on my clippers on the side and back and then a #7 extension on the top/front and I fade down to the #1 with a #5, #4, #3, #2, and so on...  Maybe an inch and 1/2 long on top. Hair is straight. I just kinda mess it up like the other cool kids.  I've cut my own hair for about 3 years with clippers.

wow. all these years i never really knew what a 1 guard and a 3 guard meant/translated too.  :-[

didn't really think he meant inches but had no idea how long a 7 guard would leave the hair. thought it would be longer.

Is this new?  Don't remember that at all.

not new, but my huge mass of hair does a good job of making the whites hard to see.

but they are there and not that few in number.  Super-white, almost clear.

that's pretty elite.  i wish i had darker hair to get a nice grizzled s+p look going.

i've got a decent amount of whites on the sides. not as many on top. my dad pretty much had all white hair by the time he was 40. looked/looks exactly like bobby knight.

also, the s+p look will make chingon appear even smarter/more distinguished than he already does (if this is even possible).

I found my first gray hair the day I turned 25.  I'm 32 now and have found 4 more.  Two of them were in my goatee that I no longer have.  Suppose once I have kids they'll start coming in droves.

Have lost a lot of hair though, although that seems to have slowed a lot over the last couple of years.

Yep 32, had white hairs on various places around my body for years, then in the past couple of years my beard started turning salty.  I'll have to decide if I want to go the Just for Men route soon since I too am single.
