Does anyone use this or another prepay cel service? I'm just looking to save a little money now that my Verizon contract has run out. Don't want to get into another contract when so many new phones are on the way that I might actually want.
Anyway I'm wondering do you have to pay $1 a day just to use the phone? And how is the Sprint service these days?

a lot of people who don't really need a phone use their pay as you go service. it's expensive if you use the phone, it's the cheapest you can get if you only need one for an emergency. like you probably know since you asked about sprint, it's just resold sprint network.
boost is currently offering $50 unlimited minutes. the phones are expensive though if you buy one new b/c there's no subsidy.
if you plan on using your phone like you currently do, then i wouldn't recommend pre-paid virgin.

Wouldn't it no longer qualify as a virgin after the first use? Just sayin :dunno:

I use tracfone and think it is great. I bought a phone that came with a free double minutes for life card, and now minutes cost me $.11/minute or less depending on what kind of promotion they have. There is no per day charge or anything like that. A text message costs .3 minutes to send or receive.

I'm not kidding clams. Every trafficker we've gotten, and from the message boards devoted the this type of thing, if you haul it, you got a boost.

drug dealers, illegals, etc, use prepaid service, not exclusively Boost (Boost is the biggest prepaid provider by far so you're going to see it more often). no contract and no connection between the phone and the individual using it hence far reduced chance of a wiretap. if i was slangin cain i wouldn't want 5-0 knowing my number either.

everyone who watches the wire already knows this.

I've done t-mobile prepaid for a time. It's the best prepaid service.
