... and it's going bonkers. Last night it wouldn't even boot up. The lights were flashing orange rather than yellow/green and nothing would come on. This morning it booted up but only with the battery out and the power cord in. Once it fired up windows media center kept trying to open and the clock/date/time deal was all &@#%ed up. This was an improvement from last night so I'm wondering if it is working itself/drying itself out.
Anyone have any pointers on how to deal with this? I've already started pricing a new Dell just in case. Would love a Mac but they are too &@#%ing 'spensive.

Ask Microsoft if you can be on laptop hunters. Then, tell them you are looking for something that is good at message boarding and looking at pRon.

yeah, put your laptop in the oven at about 300 degrees for about 20 mins. gets it NICE and DRY.
serve with a nice white wine, and capers. no, but really, don't do this.

Put laptop in a big bag of rice maybe? :dunno:

Got any way to access the inside, like removing the CD player or ??, then hold a hair dryer up to it and hopefully it will evap all the water.

It's probably dry by now, but the damage that you did by turning it on when there was still water on/in it is already done. It's very likely something shorted out and won't 'get better' unless that part is replaced. You're lucky it booted up at all.

Yeah, honestly I would have taken it outside a few times to let the sun shine on it (without getting it super hot) and waited like a week before I pushed the power button on that monster. As it is now, you're likely fitzed.
