Title: Harper and Smith
Post by: ksufan101 on May 26, 2009, 11:14:46 PM
They are ours, I've talked to Chris and his father many times about ku and he just laughs and says no way he considered them, and its a package deal..next stop for the two is K-State.

What I got from the article was they both acknowledged they're stupid for not coming here in the first place and are giving good odds of coming back.

Like a glove.

I have no insider knowledge, but I'd be flabbergasted if Harper didn't end up at QB for his entire career.  Snyder doesn't care half as much about completion percentage as he does yards per completion....just yank that thing down the field and hope for the best.  Harper can do that well enough.

Honestly, I dont see Chris being a QB here, he is fast and really athletic but his arm isnt that great. But he will have a whole year to work on it if he transfers in. I can see Snyder putting Harper under his wing like he did with Roberson and developing him which i think will need to be done for Harper to be an all around stud qb.

Don't need an arm in this system. Just need to know that he can run and throw the ball a little bit and we are good...

Please refer to Pete's post - the arm doesn't matter (much). I recall Ell wasn't a spectacular passer, but we had the recievers to help him out. See the TD pass in the 2003 Big 12 Ch Ell to James Terry for TD. That was underthrown and ugly, but he has JT on the other end.

Roberson threw that pass about perfectly. The Oklahoma defender really wasn't aware of where the ball was and was playing Terry to knock it away. Ball was under thrown slightly, Terry makes an easy adjustment to the ball, breaks a tackle and heads into the endzone to the delight of thousands of EMAW fans in attendance.

We've already left the group of teams to never play in a BCS Bowl.  Playing in the CCG shouldn't be too hard.

1.  It's not the "hay-day" of ku football.  ku football will just continue to get better now with improved recruiting classes and brand new facilities.

2.  Guys like Bryce Brown and Chris Harper visited ku multiple times... ku can't sign them all.  Even when K-State was experiencing "DoD," ku got its fair share of in-state talent.  ku's coaching staff has really done a nice job of building a solid pipeline into the Dallas Metroplex and other areas of Texas, which is why it doesn't bother me that much when a guy like Bryce Brown goes to Tennessee.

be warned.  KSU was sitting in a great position 10 years ago.  Osborne was stepping down while CU was starting to nose dive from their great run starting in the mid 80's.  OU and Tejas were just starting to get some footing under Mack and Stoops.  KSU was winning at an extremely high clip and had the facilities.

BTW, the "solid pipeline" into the Dallas Metroplex can change in a hurry.

Need we mention MM's health and prospects for longeivity as a coach?

:ustupid: :'byecruelworld:

Brown took multiple unofficial visits to ku.  There are pictures of him on the ku sidelines during one of our non-con games.  You guys just don't a god damn thing about ku football, which is par for the course on this board.

ku was leading at halftime in Lincoln last season.  The final score was 45-35.... neither team dominated that game.  Oh, and the last couple times Nebraska has visited Lawrence, the games haven't even been close.  See: 40-15, 76-39.  Furthermore, Nebraska is breaking in an inexperienced QB while ku returns one of the top 5 QB's in the nation in Todd Reesing.  Like I said, just accept reality and accept your place as a bottom feeder in the Big 12 for the next few years.

I think what should be known in all of this is that the North in 2009 is going to compeletly stink....just as it has since 2004.

The conference is simply waiting on another KSU resurrection to bring some national respectability back to our Division.

Nebraska can't do it, Colorado is, well, Colorado, Mizzou always falls flat in November, Iowa State (lol)......and ku peaked in 2007.

You honestly think that Reesing is a top 5 QB nationally?  The kid is good, but I can think of 3 that are better than him right off the top of my head that are better than him in Bradford, McCoy, and Tebow.  Don't get me wrong, the kid can play and gets the job done.  He seems to have "it".  But I'm not sure that he is top 5.

So you make it sound like he's deformed or something.  Reesing is like that blind guy who made it to the American Idol top 12.  They both suck at what they do but people are just saying nice stuff about them to not sound mean.

This beats 6' 6" 250# who cannot throw accurately with no receivers to throw to every time. History confirms this. I like Toddy's chances.

its a good point to bring up and you have to give it to Mangino.

Getting a guy like Reesing to run his system and also, to get Reesing some steady targets to throw to was important. Kerry Meier is the second best of the Meier brothers.

Celebrating an Orange Bowl victory on South Beach with 25,000 ku fans wasn't bad, either.

I'm pretty pumped about Harper and Smith.

Our program is basically wrecked right now and they still want to play for Grand Master Bill. Speaks volumes.

2009 will be rough but by 2010 Kstate will be going in the right direction.

Mangino will probably see the writing on the wall and skip town like Glen Mason did.

Yes there is.  It's making out with two chicks at the same time while celebrating a national championsihp with 100,000 people.

Dude, kissing one fat chick is not the same as kissing two regular chicks at the same time.  Also:  making out?  What are you, 13 years old?  Did the fatty let you go up her shirt or get to second base?  What did you do with your retainer while you were "making out?"

Some of us don't need a special event to make out with two chicks at the same time...

I would rather go to the Big 12 CCG though since it only happens once a year, you know?

Yeah. You're not nationally relevant when you win your conference championship in a BCS conference.

or start the preseason ranked in the Top 5 nationally.

or have a NATIONAL AP Coach of the year three times...

Would you like me to continue?

damn these ku people are lame. can we recruit some new ones or something.?

how many national titles do you have?  oh that's right.

leave it to a kstate fan to pick the only part of history that helps them one iota.  face it you root for a team that barring 13 decent years you sucked more cock then jenna jameson.
