And Wooly took over in 99-00, how many years do you think it would take before he would be let go?
The 1999-2000 season was the greatest thing to ever happen to Wooly. As long as their was "COUGH" improvement from a 2-14 team, he was allowed to stay.

I love how everybody compares Wooly to Asbury when in reality they are comparing him to Asbury's last year.

A tangent question:
Would we have attracted better or worse candidates if we'd made the move after the 99 season?

Its hard to say. We would've been a position to say you can be successful here, but we would've been firing a guy after a 20 win season and his 3rd postseason appearance in 5 years. It could be used for you and against you in hiring another coach. Granted, our last 6 years of patience with little results can be used for us and against us as well.
IMO, both Asbury and Wooldridge are in the past and I'll leave them there. Time to move on, that's why I'm focused on hoping this team can do enough to get an NIT bid and taking a serious look at the candidates that are out there.
