Look, mother lovers. I am trying to be the first EMAWer to book one. Actually, I don't really care about that, I just want to be able to book one for the first football game before they all get snatched up. Where do I go to book these? I looked on Orbitz from Baton Rouge to MHK, but it's still going the Great Plains Airline route.
-
But srsly, how do I do that right now?
Never doubt my EMAW. Probably going to call in sick and get a sub that day.

talked with friend who works at AA today and he told me that he thinks there is quite a bit more work that needs to be done before tickets are available for purchase but that he isn't that involved with it so he's not 100%. his best guess was a couple of weeks.

i asked about this right after it was announced and he said he thought they'd be about fifty bucks more than the mci flights. not sure if he meant one way or round trip. guy is maybe one or two slots ahead of limestone outcropping in the smartest people i know ranking with both prob placing in the top fifteen. i'll "press" him on the money issue. also was an ArchE ksu major and the only person that i know that is/was as fascinated w/ airports as you.

guess we know the answer here now. :frown:
still not that bad though. the interesting part will be to see how they price them closer to actual flight time and how full they are. american employees can look on an in house system that's is color coded (red, yellow, green) and tells them how booked or overbooked a flight is.
ex-68/95 green.... 95 total seats, 68 sold, green indicating that you will almost assuredly be able to fly standby/get on that flight.

it would be worth a lot of board cred to the right people if you could get passwords or something to access this system and pm them round.

could buy a 2 bedroom 1 bath home in Detroit for that much.

yeah, the percent chance of him trusting me with something like that is about 0%, i'll still ask though.
when he was interning w/ AA... him and some other interns would start looking for green flights in the middle of the week and then fly out friday after work and return home sunday. they once flew roundtrip first class to japan. got drunk on the way there (first class) went into town (tokyo?) stayed for like seven hours and then hopped on their return flight home. all basically free.

Thats better than what I thought they would be for considering there is no competition on that route. They also have the luxury of the gov't paying for a lot of FT. Riley folks going back and forth. I was expecting $500 rt's.
-
hopefully obama can give us some stimulus money to make the prices lower. would be nice.

great lake flights are cheaper. aa is incredibly arrogant.

I once flew American Eagle from Charlotte, NC to Roanoke, VA. Wasn't bad, to be honest. Smaller, more "intimate" setting.

my outgoing flight listed above was at about 66% capacity and the return one was at about 50%. not too bad for still being a month out i guess. :dunno:

funny moment @ mhk. I was picking up my dad after his 8:45 PM AA flight 3817 DFW->MHK. When he arrived in the terminal I told him to hurry up, as I had parked in the "short term" parking lot and didn't want to pay for parking.
We both had a nice chuckle.
